Perhaps the rest of you already know this, but I didn't. I think I found the best place to view the MK fireworks - Fantasyland, right in front of the entrance to Dumbo/Ariel's Grotto area.
In the past, I've always wondered who those folks were that enjoyed sitting on the ground for an hour or more in front of the castle to get a good spot - not me! I don't like sitting on the ground, and I don't like having to stake out a spot an hour or more before an event.
From the Fantasyland area, you'll see the fireworks explode on either side of you! And there are plenty of benches to choose from in that area while you wait (even within 15 minutes of the show), although I found that standing in the open area near the Dumbo entrance gave me the best view once they started.
Thoughts?

Not a bad idea. You'd miss out on the projections on the castle, and also the whole fireworks over the castle vibe. But the lack of crowds might be worth it.

I've viewed them from Fantasyland near the Carousel. It's a very different experience and the effects do surround you, (as does a little smoke if the wind is blowing the wrong way).
But I miss the full in front of the castle effects, and don't get to see Tinkerbell that way! My favorite spot is on the bridge between Mainstreet and Tomorrowland, near the rose garden. Crowds aren't horrible, and most spots have a view unobstructed by trees. Tink flies right overhead!!!

I have to agree with that one, pixiedust. I tend to float a bit till I find a spot that has a speaker right in front of me. Great sound, great view!

I wathced it behind the castle too, but there wasnt any music and the fireworks were on two different sides. idk, maybe its different now, that was about 5 years ago.
Last time i was there, i watched it from the tommoroland terrace and it was really good, exspecially with tinker bell floating across, you can see her really clearly from right there.

This is really important - wherever you watch, there's GOTTA be music! You've just gotta be near a speaker to catch the full impact of the show!

Not only was I able to hear the music in Fantasyland, but I could actually hear and understand the narration as well. It was all very clear. If the music was not broadcast in Fantasyland in the past, it is now. (But I always thought the music was broadcast park-wide).
I've tried watching from the Tomorrowland Terrace a few times, but the overhanging ceiling (or the trees surrounding the area) always blocks some of my view.
And yes, the fireworks were on two sides of me, but I thought that was very cool. The lower ones were right in your face on one side, while the higher ones were behind the park on the other side of me. Actually, I thought it was more fun to be surrounded by them than to see them all from an area that makes them appear to be near each other.
To each his own!
