My sister and I watched SpectroMagic on one of the nights of our trip that didn't have a Halloween Party, and I was trying to figure out what was different - and then I realized it. The 'clown guys' at the beginning (I know they have a real name, sorry) are different. They've changed their faces and hair. Their hair is now a bit wilder and I lit, and their faces just appear to have a fake nose, and aren't a full mask.

Unfortunately, my camera and I haven't come to a complete understanding about photgraphing night parades, so this is as good as I've got (http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/cesowa/HPIM3135_edited.jpg)(I had to adjust the brightness quite a bit so you could see the face). I missed the beginning of the parade in April, so I'm not sure when the change occurred. (I'm sure Mark had it in an update and I just forgot!)

Thought those who don't like clowns or the old guys might like to see the difference...

Actually, I didn't know about the change to the Spectromen. (I bypassed Spectro the one night that it ran when I was there last month.) I'll have to see if I can figure out which of my sources may have information on it and ask around. The new Spectromen look really weird after watching the old guys for all of these years.

it was changed towards the end of the summer. unfortunately when i was there in sept/oct, rain and other factors kept me from seeing the parade so i have no photos myself. and thanks to MVMCP, i won't be seeing it this upcoming trip either.

the hair actually changes colors

This actually was discussed at some length when the change was made. I've seen pics of both, and I have to say that the new faces frighten me a little bit. I'll wait to see it myself in person before making a final judgement. I wonder if this was prompted by complaints from the performers that they didn't want to be behind masks anymore???

After looking at the pictures from Drince. i have to say i like the new ones better. they look less nightmareish... although i must admit that clowns scare me anyway!:|

I'll miss the old Spectromen costumes. They were fascinatingly creepy...I couldn't take my eyes off them & their weird giggle when they passed by!

Oh I'm with you. Never saw the original but how scary is that?! Would not have got my DD to see another paeade if that's what she'd seen - it was bad enough after the Snow White witch face character glared at her in daylight ;)

Wow, they scare me. bringing "saw" into disney somewhat it looked like, i never noticed the clowns at the biginning, though, and i was just there in july.

but after having finally seen the photo of the new Spectromen they look downright EVIL...POSSESSED!!!

I didn't like the old Spectromen, and I don't like the new ones even less. Or more.

i was there this summer with my daughters and i always plan at least one day when spectromagic is happening. this year when the parade started i told my daughter (who always thought those things were creepy) that they looked different:confused:, i always thought they were cute but this time i said they look ugly whats wrong with them , then as they got really close to us i realized that they were wearing fake noses and make up, i hate they new look:mad:, their cheeks are not chubby and without the masks the head movements are not as defined, please bring the old look back:crying:
