D2000lands 11-05-2007, 06:18 PM Yes, it is open 3 hours later than normal park closing for evening magic hours. They open only 1 hour early on morning magic hour. janell 11-06-2007, 06:30 AM Thanks How do they know hotel guest are the only ones left in the park at night? Do you leave and re-enter? fantasiapirate 11-06-2007, 06:34 AM There are places around the park that give out wristbands to hotel guests for the evening EMH. GusMan 11-06-2007, 06:39 AM How do they know hotel guest are the only ones left in the park at night? Do you leave and re-enter? You have to get a wristband in order to do pretty much anything. Just find one of the wristband distribution points, show your room key, and they will put the band on for you. Then you can enjoy the attractions without interruption. sherry 11-06-2007, 08:40 AM How do we find out when the magic hours are? We plan our trip by Mon.-Epcot, Tues.-Magic Kingdom and then we do ADR's according to the park,so we don't waste time. Can we find out ahead of time ?:( Drince88 11-06-2007, 08:59 AM How do we find out when the magic hours are? Can we find out ahead of time ?:( If you go to the official website, click on 'calendar' and then any day that says 'Extra Magic Hours', it'll list the dates about 6 months out for the morning and evening hours. (Or just click here (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/extraMagicHour?id=CalendarExtraMagicHoursPage) - right now they're listed through June 08). If you're talking about this month, on any of the WDW updates posted on MousePlanet, click on the Park Hours link, and you'll go to the page Mark has put together. Here's the direct link (http://www.mouseplanet.com/misc.php?pg=07novemberwdw#ParkHours)for November. pixar 11-06-2007, 09:20 AM Thanks How do they know hotel guest are the only ones left in the park at night? Do you leave and re-enter? actually anyone can still stay in the park. you just can't get on the rides without the wristband. MICKEYLOVER 11-06-2007, 09:26 AM actually anyone can still stay in the park. you just can't get on the rides without the wristband. There was a man in front of us trying to purchase a drink (in Fantasyland) and the cast member would not sell it to him without the wrist band. pixar 11-06-2007, 09:32 AM There was a man in front of us trying to purchase a drink (in Fantasyland) and the cast member would not sell it to him without the wrist band. wow that cast member was really strict. anything I had to pay for during the extra hours, nobody checked for wristbands. I think it makes sense to not check though, as it's extra sales for disney. ;) sherry 11-07-2007, 06:52 AM Is it possible to get wristbands at your hotel before leaving or just at the park? If so how do we locate the areas that give them out? danyoung 11-07-2007, 07:10 AM I think it makes sense to not check though, as it's extra sales for disney. ;) I think that would be short-sighted for Disney to allow that. It's to their benefit to make the non-wrist banded visitors as uncomfortable as possible, to get them to leave and reduce the crowd, and thus adding more value to the guest who did it right. I'm guessing that there are probably quite a few folks who just stay in the park for the fireworks and parades. With the MVMCP events costing $48 each, I can sure see people going without rides or food & drinks just to see the festivities for free. GusMan 11-07-2007, 07:23 AM Is it possible to get wristbands at your hotel before leaving or just at the park? If so how do we locate the areas that give them out? You have to get the bands at the parks. The wristband locations will be clearly advertised and marked via folding signs. There will be several locations around the park. And of course, if in doubt, just ask a cast member and they will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. One other note... you cannot pick up wristbands for other members of your party. They must be present to get the band as the CM's put the band on for you. Hope that helps. pixar 11-07-2007, 08:42 AM I think that would be short-sighted for Disney to allow that. I was confusing it with the Christmas Party events that are happening almost every freakin' night that I'm there! I just found a Saturday night that has neither Party or EMH. Of course that being the case, every able body within 14 neighboring states is going to be there that night, but it'll be my only chance to see Spectro and Wishes for this trip. I guess as long as I know what I'm getting into going in, I can handle it. And I'm sure a quick hop to Mizner's Lounge in the Grand Floridian for a martini or 3 before the festivities get started will help as well!!! pixiedust 11-07-2007, 11:01 AM They offically start giving out wristbands 2 hours prior to normal park closing time, though I've seen them set up earlier sometimes. The stations are clearly marked and easy to find, usually spread out in different sections of the parks. Any cast member can tell you where the locations are. Be sure to ask for an EMH show/ride schedule when you get your wristband, as some cast members have a limited supply and will only give you one if asked. This will list whatever dining locations (usually counter service) will be open also, though we often find some closing a little earlier than indicated if they have not been busy. janell 11-08-2007, 08:07 AM If you have people in your party that don't have their own room key, say its not with them, its in the room. Will they get a wristband or not? sherry 11-08-2007, 08:19 AM I did not know the buses run that late. Thanks for the web site leading me to the calendar. It is taking some time to organize a trip , each time I learn something new to add to my schedule. pixar 11-08-2007, 08:21 AM If you have people in your party that don't have their own room key, say its not with them, its in the room. Will they get a wristband or not? I've never seen anyone get denied if they didn't have their key with them, as long as they're with someone who does. Drince88 11-08-2007, 08:31 AM If you have people in your party that don't have their own room key, say its not with them, its in the room. Will they get a wristband or not? They could get denied, though. At the studios, they were still swiping room cards (to make sure you didn't hand you key to someone else to get a wristband). I asked at the MK about that and she said the studios were the only place still doing that. I think it's easier to just make sure everyone has their room key. I asked at the MK about that and she said the studios were the only place still doing that. I think it's easier to just make sure everyone has their room key. For what its worth, I did see people denied wristbands because they did not have their key. (At Epcot, to be specific.) So like Drince said - its easier for everyone to have their key. Kwahati 11-08-2007, 10:02 AM On some level, that's like having ID (and I suppose the room key could function as some sort of rudimentary ID in an emergency too!) think about if someone from your group ran off to a ride nobody else in your group wanted to go on and then failed to show up when they were supposed to... I know nobody wants to think like this when going to the happiest place on earth, but stuff can happen. Even something as simple as a slip-and-fall could cause a concussion and disorientation. How would park authorities know who to contact without ID or at least a room key? It just makes sense to have everybody keep their's with them (and it's a great opportunity to teach children of an appropriate age about responsibility, especially since the card can be blocked and replaced if lost!) ElephantEars 11-08-2007, 10:56 AM It's best to get your wristband early, as soon as you see the CMs start giving them out. We saw a huge line for them start to form at MGM by TOT and RRC right when EMH started. It looked like a hundred people at least. I think it's a good idea for even each adult to hold onto their own card, to avoid the "I thought you had them" that I'm ashamed to say I've been a part of. The Real Cinderella 11-30-2007, 11:01 AM If you are staying at a Disney hotel, can you take advantage of EMH every day that it is offered, or can you only go once during your stay, like EE at Disneyland? |
