Just curious, does anyone know why the railroad in TDL does not go all the way around the park like all of the DL parks?

Mr.Abominable 11-04-2007, 01:53 AM If it went all the way around the park it would fall under the public utilities laws of Japan and would therefore have to be managed quite differently. The shorter distance keeps it from meeting those requirements. simzac 11-05-2007, 04:44 AM Thanks micheymouse 11-06-2007, 04:55 PM Hi. I am not sure if you still need answers, but here is why. In Japan, if a railroad has "stations", it would be considered as "public transportation" and need to satisfy the stricter law. However, in TDL, the railroad starts from one station and returns back to the “original” station. In this case, the railroad is not considered as a public transportation and can be treated in the same way as the other attractions, such as IASW or POTC. This is the Japanese law... ------ micheymouse Living 2 hours from TDL!!:):) Mr.Abominable 11-07-2007, 07:30 PM Hi. I am not sure if you still need answers, but here is why. How often do you go? I am just curious because I love it there! micheymouse 11-09-2007, 07:34 AM Thank you for making it clearer for me as well. Have you ever been to TDR? I love Tokyo Disney Sea. Beautiful and foods are good. BTW, my friend told me that the Japanese law became a little bit looser. So, we can find more transportation-like train in TDS. ----- micheymouse Living 2 hours from TDL!! :):) Mr.Abominable 11-11-2007, 10:56 PM I take the train to TDR. It is easier and, I think, faster. It was truly amazing, DisneySea was even cooler than I could have imagined. I can't wait to go back, wish there was a 2 hour train from Vegas! ;) simzac 11-12-2007, 01:55 PM Just ashame for the transportation rules in Japan. Having the train circle the entire park is such a relaxing and pleasurable experience. If they could only have one station, could they not have still circled the park, only being able to board at the Main Street Station. micheymouse 11-13-2007, 05:33 PM Hmm... in Japan the underlying history of Disneyland railroad, or Walt's passion for train, might not be well-known and, since trains are the main method for commuting, riding train was not so fun thing in late 1970. Anyway, TDL's railroad is 'Western River Railroad' and is located in Adventureland. I love this concept and, at least, I can enjoy railroads in DLR and TDL from the different perspectives. ;) -------------------------------- micheymouse Living 2 hours from TDL!! :):) simzac 11-13-2007, 05:59 PM Agree, at least they do have a train in the park for guests to ride. I realy enjoy riding the train at WDW each time I visit the park.:) micheymouse 11-13-2007, 06:03 PM Yes, I went this past summer.
