Question:
Does Al Lutz, as a part of his column, ever respond to reader mail? I know David Koenig does but I don't recall reading a column where Al responds to reader comments. Maybe I just missed it...

If so, I need to read MP more carefully.

If not, it would be a good idea. In reporting, it's always a good idea to get feedback.

I know Al doesn't read MousePad, so I'll e-mail him too.

 GC

ps - This is outside of his Ask Al column where he answers stuff about Disneyland etc. I wonder if he discusses his views with people who agree/disagree with him...

He may respond to your email, but it really depends on if he has time/has something meaningful to say to you. Give it a try. But he doesn't share his responses in an article.

Al used to do an "Ask Al" column but it's been several months since he's published one.

I e-mailed him. We'll see... :)

If Al responded to all of the e-mail he gets he would never get any DIGs done. He told me he gets 100's after each one. I e-mailed him once, and got no reply, but sat down and talked to him for a few minutes and got more info than a simple e-mail. Nice guy, too. Not as gruff as you'd think from reading his articles. But if you've got something enteresting, I'm sure you may get an answer after a while. But I'm sure he may get 20 people asking/saying the same thing so he doesn't respond the same way over and over.

That's why I'm thinking he should respond to the most popular questions, concerns, comments in one big column...

btw- I have nothing against Al. I like Al. I'd like to meet him.:)

I've met Al at 2 meets. Nice guy, not at all what I expected after reading his colums. I hope you get a reply to your question GC :) I *think* if more people were open to a friendly debate and not an outright attack there would be a better chance for the type of colum that David has.

Al responds to most of the e-mails I've sent him over time. They're usually not very long but always polite and a little humorous.
Whether or not he responds to an e-mail depends on how much time he has to respond ( if any ), how you approach him, and what it's about.
As Lani said already, Al used to answer about 10 e-mails in a column called " Ask Al " which would usually come out the day before or after his "DIG Update". It's been a while and I assume he hasn't had time to do another column. Probably in September, after the summer season ends, Al will bring back the "Ask Al" column, but don't hold me to that.

Oh, I remember the "Ask Al" columns now! It has been a while now hasn't it. Perhaps he's waiting for enough inteligent questions to compile a column:D !
