Hello, all! I am new to this board, and i looove disney, duh! lol
I have a question/concern.
My family and I are planning to travel to disneyland November 15 - 20, 2007. For those of you who are in the immediate area, should we cancel our trip? Will it be safe to go in november in regards to the fires/smoke? TIA!

Hi there--my office is in Santa Ana (Disneyland is further away from the fires) and there is NO smoke smell. (At my house in Orange--which is closer to the fires--we are still smelling smoke as the fire is not out yet.) Assuming that there are not new and exciting fires there should not be a problem at Disneyland in your timeframe. Disneyland is pretty far from where the fires are and is in the midst of a highly developed area.

Fires should be out. Air quality should be fine at that point. We have a lot of smog in So. Cal that we deal with regularly but the air quality as a result of the fires should be fine at that point. Keep watching the aqmd.gov web site and they should give you some updates for the air quality.
The Santa Ana winds that get the fires aroarin' are predicted for this weekend. I would take a wait-and-see stance. They are not predicted to be as wild and wooly as the last go-round, though.

The wife and I were at the parks all day October 26-29 and had no air quality problems. It was a little hazy on the 26th, but this passed by noon. We could not smell smoke the entire time we were there. For those looking for a crowd update, the parks were pretty busy Friday thru Sunday, but tapered off a bit on Monday. We attend the Halloween Treat the evening of the 26th and despite it being sold out, ride wait times were 10 minutes or less and the Tower was a walk on. We had an absolute wonderful time (as always). Hope this helped. Enjoy your trip!!!!

I was just there yesterday and the day before and we didn't smell anything, even once.
The only time we smelt smoke was driving out of LAX, we caught a little for maybe 5 minutes.
