I like some of the new floats but I think the music is too layed back and has less than half the energy and spirit of the original one.

...your right Zapppop the new music is less magical and "bouncy" than the original.
Maybe its only because of the lack of warmth which the new electronic music lacks in comparison to the old!
The introduction is very good actually...it keeps with the old version but ads the concepts of the old..the way the worlds "dreamlights" are said at the end send shivers up the spine but the music is less whimsical then the old1
The floats are amazing..unless the snails faces which for me are a bad try of trying to change something from the original! The characters interact and seem to speak a lot more..very good..but the music lacks in warmth..maybe they could put back someone to play the moggy organ like King leonida did!
Anyways the floats where also designed for DL anaheim but the budget and DCA problems made Team Disney decide (thanks paul) on not building it (25million $ cost).
Tjhe use of fiber optics is incredible..the words "dreamlights"come out like if tinkerbell uses pixiedust..amazing! Cant wait to see the new TokyoDisney resort in september for the inaguration of DIsneyseas (and this..and pooh).

I find the new music wonderful. I have the soundtrack CD and I love it. How can you say it is lame. It is bouncier than the original, pumped up and then changes to full orchestral music that just gets more and more bombastic and then returns to the electronic music for the ending. I also love that opening announcment. Just wonderful as far as I am concerned. I made my own CD putting the Original MSEP on track one, Fantallusion on tracks 2 thr 10 and Dreamlights on track 11 then added the opening annoucnement from Paris MSEP as a bonus track 12. It all fit on one 84 minute CD-R. I listen to it all the time.

You can buy it online at CD Japan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/search.html?type=GC&word=electrical+parade&restrict=CD) or at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005J4SR/markjochemsnl). The links will take you directly to the Dreamlights CD.
