I asked about the Poly, which is where I am booked in on a promo code I got from my recent stay and my current rate is better than the AP rate would be. The AKL savannah view rate was comparable to my current garden view Poly rate, so I am tempted to change. I'm curious if there is anything available at an Epcot deluxe (Beach Club or Boardwalk), and what the rate would be but forgot to ask! I'm looking to be pampered a bit for my 3 nights after the race. Bobcat 10-31-2007, 11:44 AM Hi Steph... I'll gladly share. I booked a while back and 5 nights at PORS priced out at $145 per night, I simply asked if it were possible to apply my AP rate to my exisiting booking and bingo, $99 per night. I was pretty pleased with the savings! I'd have loved to stay at the BW yet again, but where we're already booked for May, Marathon Weekend is simply a little bit of a bonus trip for us. Get pampered, after 26.2, you'll deserve it! emmah 10-31-2007, 03:15 PM oh how exciting! i have been waiting for this - I am booked into the WL for 10 nights at $215 from Jan 29 but have been really hoping for a discount. I have just contacted my travel agent to see if she can check this out for me... thanks for the heads up! emmah 10-31-2007, 04:14 PM wow, i am going to have a huge phone bill next month; i just spent over 20 minutes on the phone to florida. i think - actually, i have no idea where the wdw call centre is. anyway, a BIG thank you for listing this information; I have changed the first 9 nights of my holiday over to the AP rate for a saving of just over $50 a night - which, when I add in the extra cost of the AP (I have already bought a 10 day park hopper, which I will trade up when I arrive) means a total saving of about $300. plus whatever discounts I get from the AP itself I guess. and with our dollar doing such great things, the actual cost of accommodation is about $1000 less than the budget I drew up at the beginning of the year. hurruh!! so, thanks again for the heads up!! dawz1026 11-02-2007, 05:42 AM I miss going that time of year! Rates are awesome! My DMIL almost froze our pipes last time we went during winter.... emmah 11-03-2007, 12:04 AM My DMIL almost froze our pipes last time we went during winter.... i know I am only a humble kiwi but I *thought* I spoke english like anyone; I have absolutely no idea what this means????? Drince88 11-03-2007, 05:02 AM i know I am only a humble kiwi but I *thought* I spoke english like anyone; I have absolutely no idea what this means????? If the temperature gets cold enough, and depending on where you live and the construction codes, if you don't leave the heat on enough in the house, or the water running (just beyond a drip) in a faucet to keep it flowing, the water in the pipes can freeze. As long as it JUST freezes, it's ok - it's when it freezes and then bursts the pipes that it's a REAL mess (spoken from experience*). Water expands when it freezes, which is the real issue. (And in my defense, it was a super bad cold snap in Portland, OR and I had just bought my house and didn't realize the previous owners hadn't closed the crawl space vents.) (Oh and DMIL=Darling/Dear Mother in Law, in case that was the part that threw you!) dawz1026 11-03-2007, 05:35 AM Sorry bout that! :) thanx for explaining! emmah 11-03-2007, 02:19 PM ok - got it! so you're saying you don't go in winter because its hard to find someone to take care of the house. interesting! i can not tell you just HOW FAR this is from being something we would ever have to worry about, in NZ or Australia.... :D |
