In Aug it was still open but was unexpectedly down at times.

Yes, it is still open. Contrary to what everyone thinks, there are no plans for them to close the ride. I learned that during one of the tours in my recent visit a few weeks ago. :)

That's so funny. I was just talking to my roommate about this ride last night and then I see this thread today! We love this attraction, but we sorta thought we were in the minority... What's the consensus here? Do you all like watching Ellen take her roommate down on Jeopardy or are my roommates and I the biggest geeks here?:D

Edited to add: I ask because if enough people hate it, they'll probably get rid of it eventually...I hope it sticks around a long time, but I also hope Disney does whatever they can to keep their guests (all of us) happy!

I like it. I had to warm up to it though because I'm not a fan of the "I'm dense" humor style of the old Ellen show and I still liked the old dated 80's music they played in the original but now I'm happy about it.

It's funny, educational and entertaining. Thumbs up.

My kids like the Dinos and the movie but the Jeopardy bit is not even vaguely understandable to them. But they are good patient kids so they don't mind.

I enjoy the current version, and understand the need for updating the previous, somewhat dry version. But I really miss the old preshow with the kinetic projection wall. A totally unique, totally Disney production - they never should have yanked it out!

I don't really know if I like this one or not. Both times I've tried to ride it I fell asleep. It wasn't planned. The first time was New Year's Eve and this last time was in May and it was sooo hot. Just couldn't help myself.

My kids love it. Bill Nye the Science Guy is a Seattle-ite, so I feel we have to support him. :)

When we went to see it this past August I was like "Cool - Bill Nye the Science Guy!!" And the wife and kids were like "who???"

I was like "ug...."

But Jaimie Lee Curtis as the "Judy the Roommate" was a hoot.

Is it just me, or doesn't there seem to be a little bit of ;);) "tension" between the former roommates? My DH and I always find the skit amusing because of that possibly imagined detail. (I know, it's a family park.)

Aside from that, I do miss the original version of the ride. I like all the celebrities, but I feel like it's too contrived and cheapens the original serious nature of the attraction.

Commence hurling vine-ripened projectiles.

I was a little young at the time, so I don't really remember the original version... I am a HUGE Bill Nye fan though! I recall that he really broke out when I was living in Seattle, so it was kind of a big deal that another geek from Seattle was making it big. And I do love Jamie Lee Curtis and Ellen Degeneres (sp?) I think they're both quite funny and Jamie Lee Curtis is really underrated as a character actor. Ellen, on the other hand, seems to only have one character--it's just lucky that I enjoy that character!:p I really think this is one of my favorite non-e-ticket attractions. You really shouldn't *have* to make learning fun for people, but it's nice that they do.:D

The ride is just too long for me 45 minutes, and most of it watching a movie of Ellen, Bill, and jepordy.......its ok....but if I miss it for a couple of years, not a big deal. I think its too adult and long for younger kids.:geek:

I enjoyed it, but it wasn't on my MUST SEE list. However, my 12 yo wanted to go on it a couple of weeks ago. He loved it SO much that he wanted to go on it again on an evening EMH night! He wanted to go on Mission Space and Ellen! How 'bout that??

He goes around the house saying the line, "For those people who just walked in, Where have you been?" (Brings audience up to speed.) "So you get all of that? Well that's too bad because YOU were late and you'd better think about that next time!"

ETA: It's too loud!!

We go on Ellen over and over again. The music is up there among my favorite ten music tracks at Disney World, we quote the show in our daily lives from time to time ("mammals are getting HAIRIER"), we adore it.

A trip to Epcot without Ellen would be sad.

We like Ellen's Energy Adventure. When we take new guests to Epcot, we make sure they go on this. We avoided the previous verson because it was boring and only went on it when my son wanted a dose of dinosaurs but they even weren't in there that long. With Ellen, you get humor throughout the whole thing and you learn things even though you don't realize it.

Another big reason we like this is because everyone in the whole family can ride it together. Other than a dinosaur or two, there's no thrills and chills. It's a nice safe ride for everyone. We thought our seven year old granddaughter would be bored. She was very interested in everything and even answered the Final Jeopardy question correctly!
