View Full Version : One more JetBlue question! (seats and room) dawz1026 10-30-2007, 09:18 AM Are the seats roomy enough to sit an almost 2 year old on lap or do u recommend bring a car seat and buying a seat for him? Bobcat 10-30-2007, 09:40 AM Are the seats roomy enough to sit an almost 2 year old on lap or do u recommend bring a car seat and buying a seat for him? Hi again! :) Jet Blue's policy regarding this is that once your child turns 2, a seat must be purchased. In some instances, if trying to pass your child off as being younger than 2, proof of age my be required. Bringing a car seat on the plane is useless and it'll need to be checked, the use of booster seats or harness type restraints are not allowed during takeoffs or landings. Someone may be able to assist better than I on this but I recall seeing a child air safety type restraint system designed specifically for this type of situation. Heck, you can always give Jet Blue a call to see what they say and see if they can make any recommendations. Bobcat Drince88 10-30-2007, 09:43 AM The airline should allow a car seat that is approved for airplane use. They don't allow boosters, because those aren't approved. Your child will always be safer in their own car seat than on your lap - PARTICULARLY if it gets turbulent. Many airlines offer discounted tickets for those under 2, because they could fly free on your lap - but it is safer for them to be in their own airline approved carseat. Bobcat 10-30-2007, 10:16 AM almost 2 year old I apologize, I completely bypassed the "almost 2 year old" when posting my reply. GusMan 10-30-2007, 10:26 AM Do yourself a favor and buy him a seat and put him in his car seat, if it is FAA approved. (It will be labeled so on the car seat tag.) Yes, you will have to spend some cash to do this but to be honest, it will be very much worth it both from a safety and a sanity perspective. dawz1026 10-30-2007, 01:46 PM Do yourself a favor and buy him a seat and put him in his car seat, if it is FAA approved. This guy calls in to a JB representative and asks "I heard JetBlue took a row of seats out of every plane to give all their passengers extra leg room?" and the rep says "That's correct, we now give extra leg room to every passenger." and the guy says "Right, well, I don't have an extra leg, so can I use that space for something else?" I know it's really stupid and silly, but I love that commercial! It makes me giggle every time I hear it...:D bradk 10-31-2007, 09:36 PM they've actually removed 2 rows overall. they had removed the first row initially... and then most recently removed the last row within the past year i believe ChoEarfan1 11-01-2007, 08:14 AM In the "give credit where credit is due" catagory......JetBlue is probably the best airline in operation in the US. I have flown them many times out of IAD and find them to be friendly, COMFORTABLE , and the inflight tracking seems to make the trip seem shorter. dawz1026 11-30-2007, 06:53 AM Could someone tell me if they have seating only by windows or is there center row seating up the middle..I cannot pull up the photos on the website.DH is hoping planes are large as we have not flown in a while and he feels bigger is better...last time we flew it was not a very large um plane... stan4d_steph 11-30-2007, 07:02 AM Could someone tell me if they have seating only by windows or is there center row seating up the middle.I have merged your new thread with your previous one about seating on Jetblue. There is no middle aisle seating. Just one row on either side of a single aisle. Check out SeatGuru (http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/JetBlue_Airways/JetBlue_Airways_Airbus_A320.php) for more information. bradk 11-30-2007, 07:11 AM JB primarily uses Airbus A320s with some Embraer E-190s they are all narrow-body jets and i believe in the same configuration. 6 seats across in groups of 3 - window, center and aisle. you can get more details and seating options at seatguru.com all seats are equipped with directv and some of the fleet additionally has XM radio. all seats also have the most legroom available anywhere 'in coach.' JB has even removed both the front and last rows over the years to make additional room. there's more leg room than you could know what to do with especially in the rows before the emergency rows. dawz1026 11-30-2007, 09:57 AM I have merged your new thread with your previous one about seating on Jetblue.
