The food at Cinderella Castle is pretty good. You only get the full princess meal at breakfast and lunch. The meal is expensive, but you do get a family picture with the package, and the kids get a wand (or sword for the boys) and a wishing star to keep. It does fill up fast, so you want to call 180 days out for Cinderella Castle. You can also see the princesses at lunch at Norway. There is also a Cinderella dinner at the Grand Floridian. My kids are 9 and 6, and still love the face time with the princesses, so we try to book a princess meal at every trip. A couple of years ago, we took their cousins, who are older, and they loved the princess meals just as much as the younger ones did. When I asked my oldest niece, who was 13 at the time what she liked the best about the trip, she said the princesses.

all 3 meals at Norway are princess meals. only lunch and breakfast at CRT are princess meals (dinner has Cinderella greeting and features Fairy Godmother and Suzy & Perla).

We've had the breakfast at Norway twice and really enjoyed it both times. We've also done the lunch at CRT, but that was before the big price hike. Since I've done the castle I'll stick to Norway from now on. My girls favorite Princess is Belle, when we went in June she greated you in her yellow gown when you entered.

Just remember that characters aren't guaranteed. When we did a princess bfast in August we had Mary Poppins, Esmerelda, Aurora, and Mulan.

The little girls (5 years old) had a whole conversation with Mary Poppins about the fact that she was not a princess and that she didn't belong there. MP tried to convince them that she was there to "mind" the princesses but they were not buying into that. :p

Now at 12 it probably won't bother your dd as much.

Mulan isn't a princess, either. My girls accept that a female lead character is often referred to as a princess, even if she is not born to, or married into, a royal family.

I do wonder why they associate them to the princesses (the non princesses that is) the kids are full of questions about it...

technically every little girl at the MK is a princess, but they aren't royalty.

it's a term of affection more than anything else. it just happens to be literally true in some cases.

otherwise it'd be like calling someone honey and have them expect themselves to be devoured by pooh

We had dinner in Norway and had Cindy, Belle, Auroa and Mermaid (she sat in the entrance for photos in a HUGE gown)!!! The food was fabulous as was the service and interaction with the characters. We would definitely do it again (dd's are 14 and 16 BTW).:)
