WDW gave us a free night and some hopper passes.I have booked 7 nights at BC and am not sure how to apply the freebies.I know things get a little hairy when u start adjusting packages etc.Is it even worth applying the 3 days of hoppers for a 7 night? I know the free night will take off some $$$.

I think your situation is going to be special and has to be discussed with Disney directly since your freebees were the result of a guest satisfaction situation.

I would see how they want to handle it and possibly have them add the day into your package, reducing the overall costs. As for the tickets, that could be tricky since if you add them to your package, they may become worth less, sort of speak, if they put them at the end of your stay since after about the 3rd or 4th day, the daily ticket prices go down quite a bit. If this is the case, I think I would wait to use those tickets for when you dont want to buy tickets and/or do a shorter trip. Then you will get more value out of them.

Now, if they "front load" them, ie: any days you add on will be towards the end, then you will come out ahead since the costs for the additional days will be much less.

But overall, you are going to have to talk to Disney to see how to make this all happen. I hope it is not a difficult process for you but be patient and professional and I am sure that you will get the most out of your compensation.

Personally, I wouldn't book a package, I'd book a room-only and treat the 'free night' totally separate from the 3 day park hopper being upgraded to 7 days. (Assuming I'm interpreting your situation correctly!). Do the tickets say anything about value on the back of them? If they have the value of the tickets as you'd expect, you could then add days to them at any ticket booth (and maybe concierge desk at the hotel, I'm not sure if they can add days) - and you'd only be adding the incremential cost, which would be great for you with the way the tickets are front loaded.

But no matter what, I'd book it directly with Disney via phone- too many 'moving parts' and so you want to minimize the potential for confusion/etc.

Drince has a very good point about the tickets and separating the package into seperate parts.

For clarification, for some reason I was also going under the assumption that you wanted a package so that you can get the DDP or the like.

I actually booked the package before hearing from WDW in reponse to my letter.I did not want to lose my ressie. The package from the includes 1 free night at BC/YC and 3 day park hopper no expiration. We are booked 7 nights w hopper tix excluding water parks (never make them ).Dh said we only save 7 bucks or so if they are added at end so I see what Drince means..good idea to use them first.I guess I will hope for a happy reservationist and get them early in the morning before someone gets them going lololol...Thx for the input.Just trying to get the best out of it!

I recieved my freebies today..1 night bc/yc and gives a number to call and 3 park hoppers good for 1 day.I guess the best bet is take one day off my 7 night stay and just do the freebies then???

Thats what I would do. Call the number you were given and see if they can modify your existing ressie, reducing the cost to reflect the freebees. If they cant, make the freebee ressie for the first or last day then just change your paid ressie accordingly. Then, link the two ressies if possible. In either case, try to get it set up so that you dont have to check out and re-check in as you cross reservations.

There may be more than one way to do this, but the above is just a thought...

If your tickets say "comp" or "complimentary" on them they have no cash value and cannot be upgraded in any way.

I dont want them upgraded but do you think they will be able to use them in place of a day on my package as well as with the free night so I dont have to check out/check in?

You can just have one day deducted from your tickets that are a part of your package. The tickets purchased as a part of your package do not have to match the number of days/nights in your package.

So, in essence, instead of using your room key one day, just use your freebee ticket instead. Just dont forget that if you hop to use the same ticket.
