View Full Version : Monsters Laugh Floor in October - Sending in Jokes?
Drince88 10-29-2007, 11:00 AM We went to Monster's Laugh Floor last week - and we didn't get to text in any jokes! I was bummed, because I had one all ready and everything! I had even put it into my phone before so I could quickly get it in (I'm not a big text-er, so I'm REAAAALLLLLYYYY slow at it!). They still had the segment, but with 'Halloween' themed jokes they 'claimed' were texted in.
Anyone else not have the option to text in jokes?
Oh, and in case you were interested:
Why don't Dinosaurs talk?
Because they're dead!
Wendy Bird 10-29-2007, 11:56 AM We saw the show twice and texted in a joke for the second show. we heard the same joke both shows and our joke wasnt used :crying:
are joke was..
What's worst then finding a worm in your apple?
Finding half a worm :p
GusMan 10-29-2007, 12:34 PM I think what I am hearing is kinda confirming what I suspected... That either they have some "stand-by" jokes waiting or, quite possibly, dont use any of the submitted jokes. At the same time, I did not see many people scrambling on their phones to submit jokes.
The thing is that unless you have a phone with a keyboard on it, texting a joke can be really a difficult and slow process. We did manage to get one in, but it was not used either.
We did, however, get a "message" back from Mike saying that he liked the joke and thanks for submitting it. :)
Would be neat to hear if anyone submitted a joke that was used.
Drince88 10-29-2007, 12:58 PM Just to be clear - they didn't even give us the opportunity to text in the joke! That's what really bummed me! Just dead time on the monitors when they should have been talking about it!
I think someone reported back that they'd used their joke.
KJSJpipe 10-30-2007, 03:39 AM The same thing happened to us last week. I typed like made on my cell phone (no qwrty) to get the joke in and was never given the option to send it in. I was there in August and kept telling my kids how cool it would be if our joke was picked, then nothing.
We were bummed! :(

This happened to us once last May. I had the joke all saved and everything and the number never came up. I asked a CM and got no answer at all.
On the plus side I still had the joke saved and used it in August and it got used. I think because I knew what was coming and sent it in as quickly as I could, it was cool, my kids still talk about it. ;)
MICKEYLOVER 10-30-2007, 11:16 AM Is this worth going to? I just don't get a really good excited vibe about it.
Drince88 10-30-2007, 11:35 AM It's cute enough. It's out of the weather, and there's audience interaction with the Monster commedians. Same basic technology as Turtle Talk with Crush, but on a bigger level. When they ask the audience questions or have other interactions with them, they actually show up on the 'stage' too.
scoobydooby 10-30-2007, 02:34 PM It's a blast if they decide to 'pick' on you. I don't know if it's the same seat in the theatre every time that gets picked as we only saw this show once but they singled my DH out several times and I was crying laughing by the end of it!
Dianna 10-31-2007, 08:18 AM We went twice and it was different seats each time. My husband was also picked and it was great as he is the quietest of our family and my kids loved it. I feel well worth a visit. I am not really into that kind of comedy show but adored it.
vamassey 10-31-2007, 10:51 AM We really enjoyed it too!!

SpamPutney 11-04-2007, 04:03 AM I was there in September, and they definitely used my joke and thanked me by name.
bellefan 11-05-2007, 08:49 AM I was there last week also and texted my joke in (they did have the number on the screens). But I got a message back saying it was "out of service" and to "try back later." Then I got another text message back saying they received it but it wasn't part of the show we were in. That's got to be crazy trying to get them into the shows where people are seated!

I saw the show two days ago. I thought it was just awful. It was beyond juvenile. I left thinking, "Well, there's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back."
Sometimes I think Disney execs think we all have the minds of 5 year olds. Every new attraction seems to get more childish than the last.
DisneylandForever 11-12-2007, 03:22 PM Would be neat to hear if anyone submitted a joke that was used.
They used my joke. They said it was by Keith from San Francisco and everything. My joke was beyond lame (made it up on the spot as a goof) so I shant be repeating it! :p
It was a cute show. The whole thing is really the monster making fun of the audience members. Especially the one they always pick on the entire show. It's like a "once, maybe twice a trip" attraction for me.
Mermaid 11-13-2007, 04:24 PM I saw it last year during a soft opening. It was literally walking by and "Oh my God, It's open" moment. My sister and I both texted in a joke and they used both of them, the only jokes they told. I am not sure if we were the only ones who sent them in since it was a soft opening and people may not have been ready but it was cool! It is a fun little show and I would reccomend it.
