Hi Sherry, remind us again of the ages in your party, and around what time you'll be arriving?
Trail's End gets good marks (I haven't been there) and it's called a buffeteria. But it's at Fort Wilderness, and you'll have to either walk, boat, bus or drive to the other resort to get there, and you might be too tired from your trip. Whispering Canyon is a fun, raucous, interactive family style barbecue place. You'll get generous portions of down-home food, and probably a tongue-lashing from your server. Again, if it's just adults in your party and you're looking for a little downtime after your trip, might not be what you're looking for. But if you have kids in your party that need to blow off a little steam, this might be the perfect place to let your family know that they've arrived at Walt Disney World!
Really, your only other options at Wilderness Lodge are Artist Point, a more upscale, ($$) quieter dining experience, or the counter service Roaring Fork, which you could take up to your room to enjoy in peace.

Whispering Canyon has great barbecue style foods and the shakes are pretty good too. Definately ask for ketchup :~D
