Okay-I have yet another question. How far in advance can one call a travel agent to get a price quote for a WDW trip? I have 2 rooms booked through WDW for our 1/09 trip but I did that more or less for a statement to myself that "yes we are really going." I'm thinking I want to go through someone like AAA or at least for curiosity sake call and get a price quote. So when can I call them, anyone know? Does this quetion even make sense:) Thanks so much!!

My general rule is try to book the trip as soon as I decide to go. From there, I can always change the reservation to suit my needs and/or apply discount codes. At least then you have the room you want and that is one less thing to worry about.

As for AAA rates, it is my understanding that you should still be able to call Disney directly and get AAA rates, if published. (I thought it was mentioned around here before.) If they are not published yet, then you might just have to call in later requesting the AAA rate.

so gusman, you're saying I could call right now to book a room annd buy my WDW tickets? I am just thinking I am 435 days out so 2009 prices aren't even out but I could still book and buy tickets? Just wondering. Also, you seem to be thee man here on campus :p so you know what you are talking about, so my question is, is there really a price difference between booking everything through WDW reservations and a travel agency like IASW recommended on mousesavers? I guess I could have avoided this whole thread and picked up the phone and called to see what they would have to say, but you people are a lot more fun to talk to:) thanks!

We book generally about a yr out. That gives us time to pay on it and such and go through a TA. Just easier IMO then doing it myself.

I am waiting for the DCL schedule for 2009 before booking the land portion at WDW. Any idea when the DCL & WDW schedules / rates will be available for 2009 bookings?

If you are looking online, Im not sure they are out there yet for 09. However, my thoughts on calling directly if you dont see what you are looking for still stands. Give DCL a call and see what they say about what is available for 09. Not sure if it will yield any results for you but it is worth a shot.
