Anyone have a recent review for the Hilton Anaheim? Isn't it the hotel right across the street from DCA? I found an $80 night rate which is SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than HoJo, Carousel, etc. What can we expect for $80 a night????

The rooms aren't all that big. The floors are huge so you could have a hike from the elevator. They notoriously overbook and send people to other properties. If you're there during a convention the elevators can get pretty busy.
It isn't exactly "right across the street" from DCA. Right across the street are some parking structures and the convention center. There's a side entrance on the walkway between the Hilton & Convention Center, there's an entrance if you cut through the Hilton Parking Structure but the main entrance is on Convention Way - and keep in mind there's no 'back' exit from DCA - you'd have to exit from a gate and walk around the resort to get there.
Now. For $80 a night, it might not be a bad place to stay. I'm really not a fan of this property at. all. If you can't get a hotel on Harbor for $80, the Hilton might not be bad. But I don't want you to think it's "right" across the street from anything. It's close. It could be walking distance depending on what you consider walking distance. But it's not "right" there.

We stayed there about 2 years ago. We thought it was nice, but it is about a mile walk from the hotel to the parks.

I have not stayed at the Hilton, but I do know they have a Starbucks in the hotel. We are staying across the street at the Marriot next week. We wanted the Hilton, but there were no rooms available then.
Good Luck, Chrissy

I have stayed there a few times, twice in the last 18 months. Not a bad place. Not great either. As stated in another post it is large and I have actually been lost in the hallways before.
About a mile hotel front door to entrance plaza, walking. Not a bad walk. I usually book on hotwire for about $70 to $75 so a direct booking for $80 is not bad at all. At that rate I would almost guarantee there is no convention to worry about. When there is a large convention the rack rate is upwards of $200 and fills up quick. Free WiFi in the lobby. Starbucks in the lobby. Decent lobby bar.
It is a hotel vs. motel. Most of the closer places are motels on harbour. I prefer a hotel myself....

FWIW, I love the Marriott. They have big fluffy down comforters. They also have a Staryucks in the lobby. The floors aren't nearly as difficult to navigate as the Hilton's floors. There are two towers at the Marriott. The newer tower keeps changing names. It's been the "North Tower" and the "Oasis" Tower - I don't know what it's currently called. Those rooms don't have balconies but the elevators seem to be less crowded and faster during conventions.

Thanks for all the input! Hotel vs. motel and a Starbucks!!! That sells me! I guess I will have to break my boycott with Hilton (it's a Paris thing).
Thanks for the suggestion to try Priceline. I found a full car rental for $16.95 a day through Hotwire. I will check Priceline and see what I can find. We decided on an impromptu, cheap cheap trip December 19 through December 22 before we drive to Yosemite for Christmas with the in-laws.

So for $5 extra a night, your choice would be for the Marriott? ($85 a night through Entertainment.) I would feel more comfortable staying at the Marriott as I mentioned in my previous post that I am boycotting Hilton Hotels because of Paris Hilton.
Has there been a boycott thread???? :)

For 5 bucks? Oh. Yeah.
Getting from the elevator to your room alone without walking through a maze would be worth it alone.
Then you can add in the fluffy comforter. And they also have a Staryucks in the lobby.
