In August 2007, I booked a 13 day Disneyworld vacation (park hopper and dining plan) for Feb 08. The final payment is due Dec 20. I now see on mousesavers.com that there is a deal for Canadians (of which I am) where if they book a vacation, they are automatically upgraded to park hopper and water park tickets. If I phone up the Disney Travel company where I made the original reservation, will they discount the park hopper and water partk portion of what I already booked....ie will they actually take money off my total amount? Has anyone tried to ask them to honour a new deal that came up after you had booked your trip? Thanks

according to mousesavers.com, it's for new bookings only. this might mean you'd have to cancel your existing package and create a new one to get the water park fun & more. otherwise there's usually a code which could be applied even after a vacation is booked.

To add to what Brad said, if there is not a code that can be applied to your trip for instant savings and you do have to cancel and rebook, make sure you book your "new" trip before canceling the trip you already have. They way you dont accidentally loose your reservation in the quest for a lower package price.

very true. i phrase it like i do, but it's really the wrong order. i just trust your TA knows better. canceling anything doesn't guarantee it immediately shows back up in inventory, if at all.

I just checked that on Mousesavers, and there is a discount code that you would use. I didn't see anything that specified it was only for new bookings, so you should be able to apply that code to your existing reservation.
We did just that for our trip back in May. Booked the trip (package) in Nov '06, then a couple months later a discount code came out for tickets to add free park hopping & water parks & more. I called Disney, gave them my existing reservation number, and the discount code & they were able to apply it w/out me having to cancel & re-book.
HOWEVER, some friends of ours who were traveling @ the same time tried to call just a few days later to book their trip using that code, but were unable to get the same resort where we were staying. There were rooms available, but apparently there are limited numbers of rooms per resort that are available with the discount code--yes, the code with the discount was for park tickets, but we were booking a package, so the availability was also linked to the resort.
So, my suggestion would be to call quickly !! :D

If you are able to apply the discount to your existing reservation, and the total is less than what you've already paid, you WILL have a credit on your room charge when you get to the hotel.
When I had that occur, I just made sure I had room charging on my card and charged something that was at least as much as the credit, and just the balance was put on my credit card. Worked very easily!
