We had a GREAT time! I was a bit worried as I've never gone anywhere this far with just my son and I, but hey, it is Disneyland, right?
We arrived on Tuesday morning in time for the park opening. Dropped our bags and the DLH and started our trip. What a blast we had. I was watching the boards the week before and saw the thread about Indy and Tom Sawyer Island. I was happy to see that both were up and running. Enjoyed the 1:15PM showing of Billy Hill and a hot fudge sundae, rode the Mark Twain and had dinner at Pizza Port - Had the Chicken Fuscilli - YUM! Enough for my son and I to split as he had the kids pizza meal.
On Wednesday morning, we hit DCA first thing (it was raining a bit, but cleared quickly to be a beautiful day) and rode Soarin', saw Tough To Be A Bug, Turtle Talk with Crush (that's really cool!) and did the Tortilla factory and got a free bag thanks to my son's birthday badge and the Boudin Bread factory. Those tortillas sure came in handy as we snacked on those all day until Goofy's Kitchen at 5:00PM. In fact, we were having such a good time, those tortillas were the ONLY thing we ate until dinner. The first seating for the buffet is the way to go. Gives you plenty of time to get back to the park for more...and are you ready for this? Got on NEMO in 20 minutes. Yes, folks, 20 MINUTES! That just may have been the best part of our trip. I was dreading the line, but we totally lucked out!
Thursday, we did all the stuff we didn't do the days before. Took advantage to early entry AND met the famous Oscar at the Carnation Cafe. What a kind man! Got the recipe for the soup and his autograph as well. He also brought my son a breakfast desert and lead the Happy Birthday song. Such a neat guy...
Overall our trip was a blast! Most rides were only a 20 minute wait, but I've got to say, the shortest line was for Space Mountain on Wednesday. We literally walked right on. Crazy, huh? Oh, and did I mention we did the goat trick on BTMRR! That's really neat! Stayed turned as long as I could without throwing up. Don't know how that can be fun, but it is! Trust me. If you've not tried it, you need to...
Can't wait for our next trip to Disneyland...probaby in the Spring. But the next biggie for us is the Disney Cruise we are taking in December 2008...We will be celebrating New Years on the Magic and I'm sure it will be TRULY MAGIC.
