DL Experience Represented in Group:I've been a Disney kid all my life- averaging at least once a year. This was Kylie's 3rd trip.
After a very non-eventful 5 hour drive, we arrived at the Paradise Pier about 1pm on 10/18. This was our first stay at PP, and I wasn't sure what to expect. The staff was extremely helpful, they brought our luggage in to hold (our room wasn't ready) and we were able to pre-register and get a room key with a PIN number to call and check when the room was available. We grabbed the diaper bag and stroller and were off to Disneyland! I was really expecting a very long walk to the parks but it really wasn't that bad- we utilized the monorail and never had to wait very long at all.
We arrived at DL to what seemed liked an empty park. We walked right on Buzz and the Astro Orbitor, then headed over to Pirates. We also visited the Pirate's Lair which was open. Kylie had a great time over there! The longest line we waited in that day was for HMH, but even so, it moved really quickly. We had a quick bite to eat in Tomorrowland and went back to the hotel around 7pm. And we were in for the rest of the night.
We did the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast Friday morning. Our priority seating was for 7:50am, and we arrived a few minutes before that. Kylie was really excited because she kept seeing the characters and really wanted to go in. I was trying to keep her from running in there and the woman at the front was not being very nice. She kept talking down to me, telling me I needed to wait and "it's only a few more minutes, you need to sit down" when I understood that, I'm just trying to keep my kid out of there. Grrrr...
I really wasn't too impressed with the breakfast- the food was ok, and Kylie was excited to see the characters from afar, but got scared the way two year olds do when they got close. Maybe we'll do it again when she's older....
We went to DL again, but this time spent most of the morning in Fantasyland, where Kylie rode all her favorite rides with very little wait- Dumbo, Mr. Toad, "the ponies", teacups, and Pinnochio- we skipped Peter Pan. We visited the Princess Faire for the first time ever and caught the Storytime, which was cute. We also went to Toontown, which was really crowded. We waited 25 minutes to see Mickey Mouse and got some cute pictures. Then it was to dinner at PCH and we got ready for MHT at DCA! We were dressed as pirates. I felt a little embarassed walking through Downtown Disney dressed up, but felt better when we reached the gates and saw many other adults dressed! We started at the Hollywood backlot where we saw Jojo and Goliath and hit all the treat stations in that area. The Bug's life area only had 1 treat station and there didn't seem to be a lot going on over there. We enjoyed Pirate's wharf and the live music. One of the guy cast members was dressed like a pirate and he was trying to get Kylie to come dance with him, but she ran and hid behind me. He noticed we were wearing the same necklace-aztec coin from PoTC:CotBP, and gave us pirate logo tattoos. We had some fun at the pier area playing games and riding the carousel a few times. After Kylie got back in the stroller, she fell asleep. I wandered around the Grizzly river run and through the rest of the park for a bit and then headed back to the hotel.
For our last day at Disney, we took advantage of the early entry and were able to get some great pictures with no waiting. Kylie re-visited her favorite rides and so did momma! We hit PotC and HMH once more before we left and also went back to Pirate's Lair where we got to interact and meet Jack Sparrow! He was hilarious! He got in my purse and took my car keys. He was also really good with Kylie-he kind of interacted with people around her before actually approaching her so she wouldn't be scared when he did. He asked her how her dolly tasted-she was chewing on it- and she handed it to him. He tasted it too and gave it right back, but not before I got a great picture ! We headed home not too long after that. All in all we had a great trip and are already planning the next one in February!
