We just got back last night from our first trip in 7+ years. My wife and I, our two adult kids, 19 & 21 and their significant other. We flew down Friday morning on Jet Blue into Long Beach Airport and took used Limo King to shuttle us to our hotel the Desert Palms Inn & Suites.
This was the first time flying Jet Blue and it was a great experience. If you have never flown with them all seats are a very comfortable leather with a ton of leg room and free DirecTV and Xm satellite radio. Limo King was prompt and reasonable only $60 plus tip each way. Our hotel was fine nothing really special the rooms were quiet I could not even tell when someone was showering in our adjoining room. The continental breakfast was weak and started serving a little late for my needs.
Our first day in the park, Friday was a bit overwhelming the crowds were very large, although a couple of people I talked to said they were worse the day before. We spent most of the day in Disneyland but made a quick tour around California Adventure just to get a feel of that park. We rode the first few rides as a group but then the kids took off and did their own thing the rest of the day. This was different for us since they were much younger the previous time we had all gone together and we did everything as a group. Stayed and caught the fireworks then headed back to the hotel.
I will add more later, must head off to work.
