I am planning a trip for early January and notice that the Electrical Parade is still scheduled to be on the weekends(Jan 11th). I thought I read on some thread that it was being pulled before that? It also looks like the Haunted Mansion is the only major attraction scheduled for refurbishment at that time. Do you think the calendar will change or should the entertainment schedule and refurbishment schedule that is currently posted pretty much stay the same?

I *think* I read that the parade is starting later in December, so it's going another week into January?

And HM might only be down to take down the holiday overlay.

Weird, right now they show it going every weekend in January. I'd say that is certainly subject to change without notice, as that is very odd. They don't run that parade during slow periods and other than the first week of Jan and MLK weekend, Jan is very slow. It is starting the same time as usual, 2 weeks before Christmas right when crowds pick up, so I'd say that schedule might get changed. Hope for the best but don't expect it!

But remember, Block Party Bash is going away, I believe its last day is Sunday, January 6th.

So Disney could be just substituting the DEP until the new Pixar Play! Parade premieres late in 2008.

:DI am excited about seeing Electrical Parade as I have never seen it. We will miss Haunted Mansion, but the crowds should be light on the week days and we will see both Parade of Dreams and Electrical Parade. Yeah!

Does that mean they will run the electrical parade in February, too? Does it run on Sundays?

As I understand it, it will be offered Friday thru Sundays at 8:45 PM when the park closes at 9 PM or later, and at 8 PM when the park closes at 8 PM (they close the rides, but allow folks to watch the parade). Also might also be offered on Holiday Mondays if DCA stays open until at least 8 PM.

There will be no DEP is the park closes at 6 PM, which is most weekdays.

In June and July, it doesn't get dark until 8:15 pm.....and not real dark until maybe 8:30.

Plus, by that time, I would expect construction walls to be up around Sunshine Plaza.

But, if they can find a way to run the parade despite construction, that would be a nice thing.

^As I understand it, if they introduce the Pixar Play! Parade prior to June, then the DEP will go back on Hiatus until late June, as they would want to feature the new show and have the largest crowds possible.

But with all the upcoming changes, there isn't any clear answer past February for entertainment currently.

Oh Yeah!!!!! I am so excited. This thread just made my day. We are going in January and I haven't seen the parade in years. Our visits never coincide. This is too cool!!!!
