Do I understand correctly that all the non-deluxe resort rooms us twin beds, not even fulls? Excepting for suites and rooms with a single king. How do you manage that? I haven't slept in a twin since I was 10.

View Full Version : Twin beds, not even full size? The old man 10-15-2007, 11:13 PM Do I understand correctly that all the non-deluxe resort rooms us twin beds, not even fulls? Excepting for suites and rooms with a single king. How do you manage that? I haven't slept in a twin since I was 10. mom22gls 10-16-2007, 02:49 AM Last time we stayed at a moderate, there were two full-sized beds. Drince88 10-16-2007, 04:54 AM Standard Moderate and Value resorts have two fulls. If you're used to a King for two people, they may FEEL like twins, but they're not. If you think about it, Disney claims the capacity of a standard Moderate and Value room as 4 people - that assumes 2 people per bed, and even Disney wouldn't try to cram 2 people into a twin! The old man 10-16-2007, 06:48 AM Thank goodness. I see where I made my mistake--they call them double beds which I thought meant twins. mareed 10-16-2007, 10:48 AM double = full. Both of these are the same length as a twin bed (i.e. if you're taller than about 5'6", you have to lay diagonally a bit). This is as opposed to a queen which is wider and longer. GusMan 10-16-2007, 10:52 AM (i.e. if you're taller than about 5'6", you have to lay diagonally a bit). For what its worth, Im 6'0" and never had an issue with the full beds in the moderate resorts. Because my 6'0" husband sleeps well by himself in a double, but never sharing it with me! (Or should I say that I never sleep well in a double sharing it with my husband!) mareed 10-16-2007, 11:40 AM Sharing or by yourself? Because my 6'0" husband sleeps well by himself in a double, but never sharing it with me! (Or should I say that I never sleep well in a double sharing it with my husband!) My DH is also 6' and does OK (alone) in the full at a Disney moderate, but when we had to squeeze together elsewhere on a full bed recently it was not pretty! GusMan 10-16-2007, 01:08 PM Sharing or by yourself? Because my 6'0" husband sleeps well by himself in a double, but never sharing it with me! (Or should I say that I never sleep well in a double sharing it with my husband!) Well, since you asked, I was sharing with Mrs. GusMan... :) To be honest, the beds are smaller than our queen bed at home, which we expected. But we were still comfortable and slept well. Um... it was meant to be read with humor. :) Besides, if I had to sleep in the same bed with one of the kids, I would never get to sleep, they roll around so much. (GusJr is a wiggle worm big time.) I think the "tie breaker" sort of speak is that the (full) beds are at least comfortable to where you can get a good night sleep. I do a lot of business travel and many times it is a gamble as to how comfortable the bed is, regardless if it is a King, Queen, or full. I have yet to be disappointed with any bed at a Disney hotel, although they can vary a little bit here and there. In fact, we found the beds at the BC so good, we used them as our benchmark guide when we looked for a new mattress a few years ago. Kwahati 10-17-2007, 10:45 AM I'm 6'0" and my best friend is 5'10" and we once shared a full bed at WDW, both of us under the covers, and we managed to never touch the whole night! The second night, however, I accidentally rolled over and punched him in the head! It was just as shocking to me as I'm sure it was for him!:D tappenfeat 10-22-2007, 06:03 PM I certainly noticed the bed sizes between the Poly and the WL!!! We stayed at both in one visit...the Poly's beds were so roomy and the WL's seemed smaller. Do they both claim to be full size or WL full size and Poly Queens? ginnyfavers 10-24-2007, 03:45 PM I certainly noticed the bed sizes between the Poly and the WL!!! We stayed at both in one visit...the Poly's beds were so roomy and the WL's seemed smaller. Do they both claim to be full size or WL full size and Poly Queens? Hmmm... maybe we have to go stay at the Deluxes so we can take out a tape measure and measure all the beds! We stayed at the Poly in December 2005, and then at Shades of Green a few months later... both had "Queen" beds, but the ones at the Polynesian seemed very roomy and comfortable. The ones at SoG seem terribly small, and Joe almost fell out of the bed twice! Not sure why our perception was so different? |
