View Full Version : Gift for a 12 year old girl?
CariBelle 10-15-2007, 04:20 PM Can anyone with kids/someone that knows a 12 year old gilr (ok that sounded funny lol!) suggest a good gift please? I need to pick up something for my cousin and I'm really unsure what to get! Everything I think of is too kiddy or clothing (and I have no clue what size she even wears). Last time I got her a Tinkerbell necklace but I think even that was a bit too childish for her. Something in the price range of $30-$40 please!
dawnid 10-15-2007, 04:38 PM Movie tickets or if she has an ipod a certificate for itunes or a gift basket of these types of things. One Christmas I got my daughter a small wallet and put in assorted gift cards - Jamba Juice, Starbucks, itunes, Old Navy, etc. you can make the gift as $$$ as you want.
This is an awkward (?) age, not a child but not a teen.
CariBelle 10-15-2007, 04:45 PM Oops, sorry I forgot to specify- something I can purchase at the park! But I will keep all of those other things in mind if I can't find a gift at DL!
MauiMickey 10-15-2007, 05:03 PM How about a Disney watch? A Scrapbook with stickers and die cuts? A photo frame? A snow globe?
Just a few thoughts that might help...
My daughter loves Tinkerbell T'shirts (age 15). Tink is the only Disney character she will wear. Maybe a shirt and a pin....
neverlander 10-15-2007, 05:25 PM World of Disney has several journals and pens. My daughter got a pretty, light blue, felt-covered journal that she used as an autograph book. The imprint is pretty subtle. We also picked up neat Mickey "gem" keychain for a tween friend that she hung from her backpack.
I like using the popcorn buckets from DL as gift containers. You could fit all sorts of "goodies" in one of those.
genericeric 10-15-2007, 05:45 PM We just came back and had my 11 year old daughter with us. At the Tinkerbell shop by King Arthurs is a small purse and wallet. She fell in love with it as soon as she saw it. The purse was $24 and the wallet was $12.
Try the clothing store on Main Street (like Disney Clothiers, Ltd.). I was looking there last month and the had shirts and purses in about your price range that had Disney characters in styles that a 12 yo girl would probably like. Tink is popular, and she looks ... sassy!
letitsnow 10-16-2007, 07:38 AM anything from libby lu in downtown district should be good. they have hanna montana perfume that smells really good. or how about a gift certificate for a makeover?
CariBelle 10-16-2007, 08:26 AM Thanks everyone! I'll keep all of your suggestions in mind :fez: I think she would love a Libby Lu gift card but I don't know when the next time her family will be down at Disney.
letitsnow 10-16-2007, 08:46 AM gives them a reason to go!!! and that would be the best gift!
oohykitten 10-16-2007, 01:43 PM A ring that says...sorry had to...Actually I got to thinking you should try going to Off the Page...they sometimes have really cute picture frames, and nice jewlery boxs...now that i Know the price range helps a bit.

lol! I always try to use the JJB emoticons here! That's the store over in DCA right?
oohykitten 10-17-2007, 11:09 AM Yes in the backlot...

Thanks!
sjcivilady 10-18-2007, 12:38 PM Is she a fan of High School Musical? They might have something cool from that movie at Cal Adv.
CariBelle 10-19-2007, 08:20 AM I'm not sure if she is or not, but I thought about that stuff! I figure most 12 year olds love HSM right? :lol
Disneynerd 10-19-2007, 08:50 PM Tink is acceptable and not too kiddy. A purse and a pen would be awesome. Or a bunch of pens.
My souvenier tip - get stuff that says "Disneyland". If it just says "Tinkerbell", it could be from anywhere. IMHO:rolleyes:
Have a great time at the park!
