Has anyone visited in August and toured TL and BB at both ends of the day? I'm interested in learning if an early or a late start is the best bet. To give some context, waiting in line for the 'thrill' slides won't be an issue because we don't do them. The family tube rides will be a must and parts designed for 'tweens' will also be a focus. Thanks :)
I'd love to find out information on this question too. We just made our reservations for WDW from August 12 to 23, 2008 and will definitely be visiting the water parks.

It will be hot and humid so the water parks are a must. I would say go early. Its pretty warm in the morning so the water will feel good. The crowds will be lighter but around noon that's when the invasion hits. Plus the earlier you get there you get a better chance at a nice spot to leave your gear and towels at or even a nice covered area with a table to eat lunch. At TL you have the snorkeling with the sharks, the slides, the water coasters, and the lazy river is really nice plus the wave pool and the family slide. At BB you have Teamboat springs(family raft ride),lots of slides, lazy river, wave pool and Ski Patrol Training Camp great for the teen and tween crowd. the parks will close if there is a storm coming so that is another reason to go early most of the storms hit during the late afternoon.

I agree about going early. We went this August, and visited both water parks. We went for the "Extra Magic Hours" mornings, and walked on all the great slides. We were in line and off of crush n gusher in less than five minutes, and when we went back close to noon, the wait was about an hour.

Deb you'll be there the same time as us!
I can't speak to August, but I highly recommend going early if at all possible. We did BB as EMH and seemingly had the place to ourselves for a couple of hours. We did TL later-arriving at 2-3 and staying until closing. The last hour was good-lots of people going home and the lines lessened then-but when we arrived no lockers were available and the place was mobbed-so no good 'beach' spots, chairs were at a premium and couldn't find the towel rental place. On the plus side, being one of the last ones out of the lazy river ride at TL was cool.

Very cool! I was wondering if our trips may cross pathes when I saw your question :)

Water parks are a must in August. Go in the morning to get a lot of the trill rides out of the way (you may change your mind. :) ) and then enjoy the rest of of the day in the river or the main pool area. We would eat lunch at the WP's leave mid afternoon, then hit a major park in the evening.
On the hottest of days, they do restrict entry into the WP's after they hit capacity, so its a good idea to get there and stay there till you had your fill, sort of speak.
Oh, and dont forget to stay hydrated even while playing in the water!!
