I am taking my 10-year-old sister to the parks on a Friday so we spending Thursday night at the hotel.
I'm debating between GC and the Disneyland Hotel. (I don't want to stay at PP).
Do you think one hotel is better than the other for kids?
from what I've seen, DH looks more kid-friendly -- but its also farther away.
Also ... I have an AP, but i want to get her a on-day hopper. Will I be able to do that when I book the room?

well you have pool "privleges" at all the pools when you are a guest at the resort (unless that has changed) with that in mind, I'd go with the GC because you guys can ride GRR, get totally soaked take 10 minutes to run to your room and change and be back on the go again...if you are only staying ONE night then I'd go for the DLH so she can swim in the Netherland Pool....My niece and nephews thought the waterslide and whole theme of the pool was awesome, we also made sure to see the feeding of the Koi and the water show was cute...

Must agree with Mamma. The Neverland Pool is just too neat. Really disappointed with the "themeing"(or lack thereof) for the GC pools. Also, with the DLH, the grounds are lovely, she will still want to checkout the koi fish(even at the advanced age of 10, and Fantasy Waters show can be viewable from your room-you can ask when you check in. Plus she can explore the waterfalls too. Lots of characters running around at the DLH too. And the rooms are bigger than those at the GC-but with just 2 of you the smaller rooms of the GC may not matter much. That said, the GC is definitely closer, a real advantage when it comes to GRR and the hotel definitely is awe-inspiring.
