I would like to sign my son up for one of the children's activities next year if we get back to WDW. He will be nine. Has anyone tried the Pirate Cruise, or any of the other offerings? Which ones are the best for young boys?

Max went on the Pirate Adventure Cruise from the Grand Floridian last year... so he was either 4 or had just turned 5. He LOVED it and wanted to go again this trip but I wasn't able to get a reservation by the time I remembered to call. It also gave me a chance to jump on the monorail to the MK and go on 3 rides on my own before having to go back to get him. They had a treasure hunt, lunch, they got really cute Mickey Pirate ears, a bunch of treasure, and they came back singing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me!!!" at the top of their lungs... it was so cute! There are several offered now, one from the YC/BC, and one from POR (I think, or maybe POFQ). It was only about $30 and totally worth it.

Every trip report/post/etc I've read from someone who went on one of the pirate cruises have only been 100% positive and 'would do it again in a heartbeat'. They are very popular, so call right when you first can!

I read about the GF Pirate Cruise, Tea Party, and Adventures in Cooking in the Birnbaum's book. Then I saw on Allears that they added the other activities. I wasn't able to find anything about any of them on Disney's site. I thought that was strange. I would think they would want to promote them more.

I also heard about a kids' activity they were recently trying out at Typhoon Lagoon. Anyone try it or hear if it will become permanent??
