Hi Everyone,
We leave for our trip on Monday to WDW - we are staying at POR. I started packing yesterday and realized that I have an issue. My son who is 1 still eats jar baby food which I was planning on packing, but then realized that wouldn't be a smart idea since they are glass jars. I am sure others have faced this exact dilemma so I am wondering what others have done. My husband suggested shipping stuff down, but I'm too late to do that. I know there are places to buy stuff down there, but I am worried that I won't find what I need...suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Leah

There are some convenience stores near the resorts and you can probably find what you need there.

It also sounds like a perfect chance to transition your child out of the jarred baby food.

There are also grocery delivery services that might work for you.

How are you getting from the airport to your resort? As I understand it, many town car services will stop at a grocery store for you.

We went to the Publix store at 2925 International Drive - it's not far from the parks and resorts. (map (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2925+International+Dr,+Kissimmee,+FL+34746, +USA&ie=UTF8&ll=28.360438,-81.537266&spn=0.101964,0.124111&z=13&iwloc=addr&om=1))

They didn't have much in the way of organic baby food, but we were able to stock up on jarred food and diapers. We brought enough in our suitcase for a few days, and headed to the store as soon as we could.

In a pinch, you can also buy baby food at the baby care centers, although that is more expensive!

You are right - this would be a good chance to transition him - I actually think that is what I will do. He is almost done with it anyway, I've been just dragging my feet.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

You can order a variety of items from the gardengrocer website, pay and arrange for delivery on-line. They can leave your order with bell services at your hotel. Even if you decide not to buy the baby food, you can still order bulky and heavy items, and food, that you would not want to pack. I order bottled water, cereal, and even liquid toiletries, like sunscreen, that add a lot of weight to luggage. The delivery charge was only $12, much cheaper than paying for a cab or towncar services, if you are flying in and using Magical Express, and you would not have to shop on vacation.

If you want to take a few to have on hand, we have brought the Gerber food that comes in a resealable tupperware type container and the take n toss spoons before and had no problem bringing them on the plane in the diaper bag.
