We are looking at renting a stroller at DL for our six-year old. Can anyone tell me if the strollers have any storage compartments or is it just a seat for the child? Thanks for the info. We leave tomorrow for our trip.

View Full Version : what are the rental strollers like? kfriebel 10-11-2007, 09:33 PM We are looking at renting a stroller at DL for our six-year old. Rental strollers often "stolen". Keep your receipt. If you "lose" your stroller you can get a replacement with a receipt. Adrienne backsthepack 10-12-2007, 06:15 AM We rented strollers every trip until our kid hit 7. The rentals are not bad. I do miss having the storage now that we don't rent them anymore!! I hear horror stories all of the time about items being stolen or strollers being stolen, we never, ever experienced that. ssturgeo 10-12-2007, 06:36 AM This is what stroller info I have: $10.00 rental fee. If you need two, $18.00. Keep your receipt. If your stroller is lost or stolen, go back and present your receipt and they will give you a new one. You may also use your receipt to get a stroller if you leave during the day and return later, or switch parks. For frequent renters, beginning Oct. 29, 2006, there will be a “rental add-on” to AP’s for $49.00. This will allow unlimited rentals through the year of the AP. Two types of strollers, both provided by Baby Jogger. The main stroller is a four wheeler that holds up to 45 lbs. This one is allowed on the DL railroad. The second stroller is a three wheeler that can hold up to 75 lbs. This one is not allowed on the DL Railroad If you are buying your tickets at the park when you arrive, you can also pay for your stroller rental at this same time. This saves having to stand in a frequently long line to pay for rentals at the distribution center. They do not recline for naps, nor do they have cup holders. One user reported they tip over easily…do not put a diaper bag, etc., on the handle. You can take the strollers from one park to the other, but not outside of security checkpoints, so, you are without a stroller for DTD and the trip to the hotels. But, if you save your receipt you can leave it, and get another upon your return at any of the rental locations. As of June 07...Guests can purchase a “length of stay” stroller pass which allows them to make a one-time stroller retnal purchase for the duration of their stay. It is the regular price, paid all at once. The pass is purchased at the Main Entrance ticket booth or one of the stroller rental locations at the beginning of their visit. They will receive a voucher for every day they will be visiting the parks. On subsequent visits, they will bypass the register area and bring the vourcher (s) to one of the stroller pick up locations and receive their stroller for the day. mommy-san 10-12-2007, 09:11 AM I have only ever seen the one kind (the bigger) rental stroller. Are the smaller ones new? ssturgeo 10-12-2007, 09:56 AM Not sure when they got them, since I do not have to rent one. I just try to keep my "Disneyland Book" current with all kinds of info!! adriennek 10-12-2007, 01:36 PM I have only ever seen the one kind (the bigger) rental stroller. Are the smaller ones new? When I originally investigated the Stroller options, there were two types of stroller. That was about 8 years ago. I don't know if they have two different types now but I can't see why they would or would not allow them on the train because "private" strollers are allowed on the trains and, as we know, they come in all sorts of sizes. You might have to wait for a train with room if you can't collapse your stroller. Adrienne Last year when we rented a the three wheel jogging stroller (don't think there were any others available) we were able to take them on the train. I did collapse it down though. I think it had a pin type mechanism you pulled in order to collapse it down. It was rather big even when folded to try and carry though, but you shouldn't have to do often or at all. dawnid 10-12-2007, 04:02 PM I rented one for FREE with my Disney Visa in Septmeber. I'm not sure if the offer had a time limit or not. |
