Are the goodies different around the Holidays? I've heard that they have candy canes but that they are hard to come by. I'd love more information about those or anything else.

Peppermint mochas and gingerbread men appear at the Blue Ribbon Bakery.

There's cookie decorating available on Main Street for a fee.

I can not wait for a peppermint mocha 2 months from now. I have a daydream playing over and over in my head with my boyfriend and I strolling down Main Street with all the decorations drinking a peppermint mocha. I have sworn off peppermint mochas until I get to Disneyland and it's killing me.

When do the candy canes start coming out?

Do not know when the candy cane making begins...but here is a number that might help closer to your trip.

The candy making schedule varies week to week. Guests can call and find out what candy will be made the day of their visit by calling (714) 781-0112. The pre-recorded message is changed weekly. I understand that the days they make them there is a line...and they sell out quickly!

The gingerbread men, etc., are always available when I go second week of November.

I understand it's pretty hard to find this year. I have friends there this week, and they had to look in 4 different stores in order to finally get some. They actually had to hunt it down in DTD (the store that makes it for the parks) and find out when they would be sending it to the stores.

I have only ever seen the fudge in 2 places in the park - the candy shop outside the Pooh ride, and on Main St in the candy shop. Marceline's (I think this is the shop you are referring to in DTD) also has it sometimes.

I was not aware that Marceline's made all of the park's fudge... I have seen them make it in the park before, so I am not sure that is entirely true.

Thanks for letting me know. Do you know if they found it at Marceline's? I usually buy it on main street, but have also seen it in pooh's corner...we will be there for 4 days and i think i will start looking for it right away. I have tried to make it at home and i have been very unsuccessful.

Is it on main street that you go to get them? I must MUST have a candy cane on my December trip!

Yes, Marceline's is the store I was referring to. My friends went to both the Candy Shop on Main St., BRB, and Pooh Corner and they all said that they were out. The CM at Pooh Corner said that Marceline's is where it was made and he even called over to the manager at Marceline's to find out when the next batch was being made and delivered to the in-store parks. So I know they finally got some and they're bringing some back to Phx for me! :D

a couple of years ago i spent an hour with my nose pressed up against the kitchen window watching them make those candy canes and it is INCREDIBLE. it was really cold out, but it must have been 35 degrees (celsius) in there - they were sweating like crazy, it is hard work rolling that sugar around. i was also lucky enough to be able to buy one - I got the last one! - because I was there at the time. they are huge and incredibly good. the shop assistance wrapped it in bubblewrap for me, and it made the journey home to melbourne safely, and hung on my tree. when you come to eat it, it shatters like glass - like all good rock lollies should. you have to time it right (I was just walking by, knowing nothing about it, and stumbled over it) because they only make them once or twice a week during the christmas season (and having seen how hard it is, i understand why) but if you can, its worth taking the time out to watch, :)

the lolly shop on main street - when you are on main street facing the shop, on the right hand side there is a little glassed-off kitchen under an awning - they make lollies there every day and you can always watch and buy. fun!

I keep hearing everyone talk about candy canes, and how incredible they are - what is so special about these specific candy canes? How big are they? Are they specially shaped? If so, does anyone have a picture? Do they taste different than your average candy cane? How much are they? I read somewhere they were $8, and I am wondering what an $8 candy cane is like. Lastly, do you think they will be making them Nov 11-13, when I will be there?

First of all, they are HUGE! Maybe about a foot long and an inch in diameter? And they are beautiful. I've only seen them made once, but it was fascinating. There is a very big stripped blob of candy being warmed by small flames. One person rolls and rolls and rolls and stretches the candy down to about an inch thick. When it's the right size they cut it off of the rest of the blob and push/slide it down the counter to another person who wraps the cane around a board to get the classic shape. They hold it there for a bit and then move it to the display. I highly recommend watching!

I didn't buy one, but I'm curious if they taste different than the average mass produced candy cane.

they taste the way candy cane is supposed to taste - which is probably just the same as the cheap little tiny ones you buy in a box of 50 at the supermarket - really pepperminty. the big difference is the crunch = they are like glass, you bite (hard - they are big and hard) and they shatter - none of that unsatisfactory chewy bit. kind of the way i remember rock lollies from when i was little. i thought it was the best candycane i had ever had.

I too recommend watching them make the candycanes if you can. It is really cool...I can never get my pictures to turn out very well though through the glass!

Never knew about the candycanes. I'll have to try that.
Have you guys tried the eggnog fudge??? DELICIOUS!! It's my favorite holiday treat there:). I also love their hot chocolate...just don't burn yourself (I swear I've done that like 2 or 3 times). Oh I'm so excited!!!!

i love watching my kids decorate cookies either in front of the fire station or at santa's roundup. it is so fun with mrs. clause walking around. its a good time to rest your feet and watch your kids decorate the cookies and eat their artwork. they always look so proud.

i can't wait!!! 8 more days!
