Hi everyone,

First, I hope this thread is in the right section....

Second, I have a concern that I hope someone can help me out with.

In July, I booked a December trip thru AAA. The woman I spoke with assured me that I would receive a confirmation letter in the mail with my information and when the balance is due, etc.

By, the end of August, I was concerned that I haven't received anything. I called and she was "huffy" with me and told me they were having "glitches" with their computer and told me that she would send me my confirmation letter ASAP.

September rolls in and goes out, no letter. It's now October, and I know my balance is due soon.

If I call back again and get another run around, should I ask to speak to another Travel Representative? I didn't seem to have this problem before with AAA.

I'm nervous that my trip isn't booked!!! What if she made a huge mistake?

She was very short with me my last phone conversation as if I was "bothering" her. I'm paying for this trip...she isn't!

What to do? Call and specifically not ask for her? :(

Any input would be fantastic!!!

Thanks!

You have every right to know what is up with this reservation. I've had plenty of customer service experience (hotel mainly), and my best advice is to call again, ask for the same representative and if she's not giving you the answers you need then I would ask to speak to her manager.

Yeah, kind of a cheesy, I know, but this will do two things: 1) let her know that you're serious and (maybe) a bit unhappy, and 2) get you to someone who can tell you what you need to hear.

Does this help? Hope so!

Call and ask for what you need. You need a letter with your confirmation number and balance due date. And you need it sent to your house now. You also need to be total verbally what the balance due is, and when it's due, and to whom.

You're right, YOU are the one paying for it. You don't have to be mean or rude to her, but you DO expect to be helped in a professional manner. If she can't do that, ask to speak with another agent who can.

I'm in a confrontational mood - want me to call and get it sent to you?

Were you billed for any deposits? Do you have any printed screens showing confirmation? I'd check credit card statements and then call the hotel directly and if there's an issue I'd call AAA and have strong words for everyone and anyone I could talk to.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone!

I will call tomorrow first thing...I did make a deposit to hold my ressies and I just went thru my files and there was my deposit I made back in July on my bank statement. I knew I had that one...

So, let's hope that AAA is helpful as much as you guys are!!! Thanks again!

GOOD luck! Please let us know how it goes!!!

You're paying for a service. If they can't provide it, move on--hopefully it is all a moot point and all is A-O-K.

Ok,

So I called this morning and got the same lady again. She confirmed my reservations and then told me that she was with a customer and would call me back shortly. We will see......how long is shortly?

Evertime I call AAA they put me on with her...I asked to speak with somoneone else, but they said that she has to handle the account because that's who I booked it with.

Well, I will let you know if she calls.......if not.......

Alrighty!

She called me back...said she is sending my info in the mail (fingers crossed) and I made another lump payment.

All, I know is that it is booked, and we are getting closer day by day.....:fez:

Thanks again everyone!

Thanks again everyone!

My advice - next time book it yourself by calling Disney directly. You can ask for the AAA discount & if it's available, they'll give it to you. I see no reason to use a AAA travel agent, particularly one with such crappy service!

Glad it worked out ok - let's hope you have no further problems. Since you booked with AAA, only they can talk to Disney....so you can't even confirm your reservation is real or what payment they've received thus far.

Hi Sue,

I noticed that about the reservation. I did call WDW a while back to see if my reservations were ok and booked and they told me that AAA and WDW don't carry the same Confirmation #'s...that did leave me feeling insecure.

After all is said and done, I think I like dealing with WDW better. They send out a cute note saying, "Oh! I see you are coming back." That's such a nice letter........

Also, when everything is paid for, I have to go to AAA and pick up my package...not get it in the mail...from WDW that is like Christmas morning!!!

Live n learn...

tappenfeat - I tried to use AAA to go to Disneyland a year or so ago in San Antonio, but that agent was next to clueless, never called me back and so forth. BUT a person on these boards was nice enough to give me her AAA travel agent in California and she made reservations for me and was the nicest person. She helped me out, got me a good rate and of course sent everything to me.

I tried again to use AAA for a trip to Disneyland, again, no one called me back. That time I went through WDW to make my reservations, just because it was a short trip and the travel agent couldn't get me a room at any of the hotels (Pirates 3 premier). I won't try to use AAA in San Antonio, ever again. So, the moral of the story is, you can always go on the AAA website and call them to have someone help you so you won't have to deal with that person again. I would explain to them the situation so they know what kind of people they have out there, maybe they can correct the situation. Just a thought.

I am a retired travel agent, 28 years of service, and my first question is, can you go in person to AAA? If so, you may want to try that approach, and this way, they have to talk to you. I am surprised that no invoice was mailed to you, and NOT surprised at her attitude, most of us good agents are gone now. Reading down I agree that you should ask to speak to a manager, if this agent keeps up.Yes, you really should speak to the agent that booked your trip,as this person knows your reservation, but, again, if you are not happy, ask for the manager. I was happy they called you back, but again, if you do not recieve anything in the mail within a week, call them back, and ask for a manager. Its their job, and they need to know that their staff is not doing their job. As for your documents, yes, you may have to go to the office to pick them up, this way, they can be explained to you. At least that part is still a free service. Good luck!

Thank you Gravette for your helpful words. I'm waiting a few days to see when I receive my papers. The office is at least 45 minutes away. I really wish it wasn't! Or I would have been there face to face.

I will keep everyone posted on any progress I made. That lump payment I made hasn't gone thru yet...so I'm hoping it's just taking a few days or she just didn't do her job again! :( I hate that money sitting there in my account...I wanted it to be done with.

Frustrated, but trying to stay positive. :|
