This year, we were planing on staying at polynesian(5 years of influence finally pays off:D) and we are trying to plan our 7 restaurants for the trip. We picked so far Le Cellier, Spoodles, Kona's/Ohana's (help with that, too!), whispering canyons, and japan. And, also with Nine Dragons apparently under refurb when were there(whats with disney and oriental restaurants closures for long periods of time expecially when im there?[:crying:]).But we still need help with the other 2. 1 was California Grill. Is it worth it? It's so expensive but the veiws are spectacular, so help point No.1. Help point No. 2, Will Concourse still be there? With the Contemporary Refurbs, I'm not sure if they will redo the restaurants in the Grand Canyon Concourse. So, any help with that would be wonderful. Dates of trip are approximately july 9-16.

Oh, yeah, Cali Grill is worth it. And then some! It's a 2 credit meal, though.
What about Flying Fish? That was a great meal. We're trying LeChefs de France and Coral Reef this time. We also really liked Raglan Road.

I've heard the Yachtsman Steakhouse is good, but I don't know that for sure. I think that the Concourse change is coming about fairly soon, but I'm not 100% on that either. Some help I am, huh?

The California Grill is not only my favorite of the WDW restaurants - it's my favorite restaurant, anywhere! Of course the views are spectacular - ask for a window seat. The service is impeccable, and the food is really incredible. I highly recommend the tamarind bbq marinated beef filet - melt in your mouth, cut with a fork tender tasty meat! I've had some of the best meals in my life in this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

You can't see fireworks FROM EVERY TABLE, but if you're in an area where you couldn't see them from your table, you can go out onto the balcony and see them. Depending on where you are in the ordering/eating process, they'll ask you if you want them to hold back some of your order from being cooked so that you can A-enjoy watching the fireworks AND B-not have your food getting cold on your table or sitting under a heat lamp in the kitchen.

And they do pipe the fireworks music in, both to the restaurant and out on the balcony. The balcony is a really fun, unique platform from which to view the MK fireworks. Listen for all the car alarms that go off after the first big concussion shell - very cool!

Dan reminded me of the experience I had last time, that was quite disconcerting! I was in the 'back room' facing away from the MK, towards the Poly (I think it was the Poly - it was dark!). You have absolutely no view of the fireworks from here without going to the balcony, which everyone else in the room with me decided to do. Because it was late and I was at that brink of getting REALLY cranky and/or way over eating because I was overly hungry, I decided to forego watching the fireworks and therefore eat my food sooner (there was a slight mix up with the waiters, too - I SHOULD have had enough time to eat my app before, but the service after the initial snafu made up for the mix up).

So I'm sitting in the back, hearing the fireworks music piped into the rest of the restaurant, the 'regular' music piped into the room I was in, and watching the Electric Water Parade at the Poly! Fortunately, I did have some food by then so the sensory confusion didn't push me over that cranky edge that it might have otherwise!
