I was just wondering if it would be possible to get more smilies in our selection. We really have a very limited selection compared to a lot of other boards. I, for one, would love to have some type of waving smiley to welcome new members with. I'd also love a "rolling on the floor laughing" smiley. I've wanted to use those many times but we don't have them here.

And what about Disney-themed smilies? Those would be perfect here.

The maximum we will have at a time is fifteen, but it may be time for another round of "Smiley Survivor (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=16089&highlight=smilie+poll)" in which some of the existing smilies are replaced with new ones.

While I like all the current ones just fine, I wouldn't mind losing a couple to get some new ones.

Just curious: why the 15-smiley limit? Is our bandwidth that low?

Why would you need to use more than 15 smilies in one post?

The limit I'm talking about is 15 smilies available for use in posts. The per-post limit is 10.

"Personal Administrative Preference" - in other words - because that's the way we decided we like it.

I never understood the fez head one, am I missing something?!

A few years ago, a MouseAdventure team that included several padders at the time, wore Fez's as part of their MA costume. (Our own stan4d_steph was on the team!) Afterwards, a Padder created a Fez smilie and it was voted in.

And that's how I kind of use it - not really cool, since there's  - but more 'too smart/clever/cool for my own good' kind of cool :fez:

Ok so if anyone was gonna vote a smiley/smilies out, what would you choose? They are all kinda cute!:p

No offense to the fez hat smiley but I just never use it. If I also had to vote another one of the smilies out it would be either the sad face or the sad face with a tear because to me they are both the same thing. I am on other boards though where people use smiley after smiley in their post and it is like a animated smiley fest and it drives me nuts. I prefer stationary smilies.

Yeah I never use it either, and I know what you mean about those other boards!

I agree. I thought the fez one had an apple on its head! And two sad smilies seems pretty redundant. I don't mind animated smilies. I think they're cute. I totally side with the per-post limit to keep the boards from getting overloaded (actually, I think 10 per post is kinda high).

Thank you, Drince! I never could figure out when that fez smilie was appropriate to use.

I am a lover of smilies but 10 per post seems plenty to me. It would be fun to have more to pick from but obviously that doesn't stop me from posting. :p

Yeah, I don't have a problem with the 10 per post limit (and as I said, that actually seems high to me; 10 smilies in one post is a lot of smilies), but I would like to have a larger selection to choose from. There are a lot of emotions I'd like to represent that we just don't have.

I would love some Disney Themed smiles. Maybe one with mouse ears?:geek:

I don't think I've ever used the fez smiley. Pretty sure I've used all of the others.

I still think we need a blushing smiley.

Oh -- and I'm perfectly happy with non-animated smilies.

I'm the answer to "why only 15 smileys and how come none of them move?"

And he doesn't many people (any people actually, I think) disagreeing with him among staff & mods.
