Does anyone know the days that the canoes are usually up and running?

We are headed there for a mid week trip week after next and this is one thing we have not done yet.

Currently weekends only from 11 to 4 PM.

Thanks for the info on this. We usually try to avoid the weekend crowds. Maybe one of these other trips we will try it.

If you must do the canoes, make every effort to get seats in the front! I really wasn't too keen to row around the thing anyway, since we have plenty of real rivers back home, but sitting behind a couple of extremely inept rowers meant getting covered in the nasty Rivers of America water...blech! Definitely the lowlight of an otherwise fabulous trip...which, in retrospect, means it was a pretty dang good trip, but still!

pefect then we can mark the canoes off of our trip. Out of all the years that I have been to DL I've never had any desiree to go to the Island but this year I'm taking a bunch of young piriate fan's with me so we have put that on a to do list. There's so much new stuff to see when you are going with boys instead of a bunch of girlfiends lol. it might be a whole different exsperiance all together.

I recommend going to the island. There are lots of things to do there for those that like to explore. Also, they have the Pirate show and they have little bands that also perform. We saw the Bootstrappers this weekend and they were fabulous!
