How is the weather and the crowds in early June and August?

Personally, I would pick early June. We've went in June twice and really liked it. Don't get me wrong, it's still HOT, but August is worse. In early June, a lot of schools are still in session, so the crowds won't be as bad as full summer. The parks are open later, it's a nice time to do the water parks.

We are probably going in August this year but it's because we are going with another family and they can't go in June due to work scheduling.

Early June will be somewhat less crowded than early August, since many schools in other parts of the country are still in session. If you want to see the 'cutover point' in August where things start to slow down, check when the Flordia Season Pass Holders can go back to the parks.

June will be slightly less hot and slightly less humid. And the afternoon thunderstorms are more consistent in August than in June.

Hee-Hee. It's funny because June vs. August is what I'm looking at next summer so the title caught my attention! :)

Early June is less crowded imo and while it is hot and humid at this time, it's not nearly as bad as August as far as weather is concerned.

August:
Hot and crowded. Planning on not going during that time again.

Was there end of August. It was VERY VERY VERY HOT! We also had extreme T-storms. Not the 30 minute kind, we had the kind that last hours and hours. It was also fairly crowded. We still had a blast but did I mention it was HOT.

June is considered rainy season but it tends to be gentler rainstorms and less hot. You can still get a lot done but can feel the crowds build, day by day.

August is so hot and humid that it literally takes your breath away - and I'm from humid, miserable Baltimore. If you're from a drier climate, it will be especially unpleasant. Violent storms sometimes make being outside impossible.

In either case, plan on extra clothes, socks, and shoes - either from rain or sweat, you're a-gonna be changing a lot!

I would go in June. My mother (who grew up in the South and got married in August) agrees. Remember, the further along in summer you go, the more risk of hurricanes. Not fun to deal with - even if they are not hitting WDW directly, they can really mess up airline plans. August is just plain HOT and sticky. Even when we went in June, I remember opening up the door to our balcony and feeling like a hot wash cloth just hit me. ICK! Drink lots of water, either way.
