My family visited DW in May for the first time and had a FABULOUS time! Perfect weather, perfect crowds, everything was perfect!!! We're wanting to plan our next trip (I've had withdrawels since our plane landed back at home) but we're not sure when to go. We would love to go back in May but I'm a teacher and I hate to miss school for a week again this year. When does everyone prefer to go? What are the pros/cons of the different times of year? Thanks for your help!!

Pretty much anytime school is out, crowds will increase. I've never gone in June, but I've heard that the first few weeks aren't as busy as the rest of the summer, but the weather can still be quite hot!! I prefer December or January (except for right over the holidays) due to cooler weather, lower crowd levels, etc.

I went in May as well...May 18th to be exact. It really was great. Very little wait times for most rides (I think the longest I waited was 40 mins). Weather was gorgeous. I highly suggest middle May! In fact, I'm going back in May 08!

We're going in January for a change. We typically go during the summer months (July, August) and it's always very hot and crowded. January should be a nice change. It'll be perfect shorts weather for us considering it'll probably be -10 back home.

Depending on when you finish school, we've been 1st week of June - not too crowded but hot.

1st and 2nd weeks of Dec. are nice - weather and crowd level is good. Again depending on your school holidays, you might be able to fit in time before the crowd rush for Christmas. The closest we've been to Christmas was leaving on the 20th and we had no problems with crowds.

Early Jan. and Feb. crowd level down but we've run into a couple of COLD fronts.

Have fun planning!

Best time of year for low crowds: February and late September early October. Perks to October include Mickey Not So Scary and the Food and Wine festival. February gets you cooler weather.

Best time for long hours: summer (note, the hours are long because the crowds are terrible).

If you want to see Holiday decor or Mickey's Very Merry, try late November. Not too crowded... but all the holiday fun is in full swing.

Hi
I prefer August myself, but being from england that is good for me the crowds are not to busy vary barable, and its the UK summer Vacation time so the kids are not in school, as i work in a school its perfect for me.

As for some cons, the weather has to be one it very hot and mid hurricane season, unfortunatly on my 3 times ive been once in june twice in aug ive only been stuck in one hurricane.

the first time I went to WDW was in August and it rained everyday. And not just a few drops, it was a full on thunderstorm. The CMs said that August is monsoon season, so next time we plan to go in June.

I like October!!! Food & Wine Fest is awesome:cool: Fewer people but the downside is that this is the beginning of their maintenance season so some rides are closed.
