rentayenta 09-27-2007, 08:02 PM Hi friends! :fez: We just returned from 10 days in WDW and I must say it was everything I thought it would be and then some. I am in the process of writing a trip report for another board so in order not to overwhelm myself I am going to put the same report here. I am very detailed orientated so if you don't want the nitty gritty, this is not the report for you.
I also wanted to say thanks again to all of you who made the countdown so much fun!
Who: my family, Keith, Tracy and her children, and another MPer, Jenna and her family.
When: September 15-25 POR.
Why: Because we like you, M O U S E!
Stay tuned for the intro and Day One........................:~D
THpoohbear 09-27-2007, 10:12 PM Woohoo! Looking forward to reading every word!
eyenjeff 09-27-2007, 11:23 PM Can't wait!

:D Awesome! I am looking forward to writing it as well!
Can't wait!
Thanks! :)
From my countdown you all know I was TOTALLY unable to sleep the night before due to being excited for this trip to finally come to fruition!
DH got home around 8 am, we packed the car for the long haul to my FIL’s, a whopping 20 minutes away, and were in the car by 9 am. Because our camera was broken the night before and my gf’s camera doesn’t take video, DH stopped into Walmart very quickly to plop down some money on a video camera for the trip. This would later come to haunt me throughout the trip. Asking DH to take a pic every time I wanted one proved to be a pain in my arse as well as his leading to why I am going to pirate LOTS of Keith’s pics for my scrapbook and this trippie. Anyhow back to the airport drive…………………..
We show up to my FIL’s very uneventfully, load his vehicle with our crap, and take off to the airport. We show up to the airport 90 minutes before, just like the rules say, give the sky guy our bags and his $7 tip, a buck a bag, and head in to check in when all of a sudden it hits me that I left my camera in our car at my FIL’s. :( How could I have FORGOT the camera? I had planned every last detail, bought every possible thing needed for the trip from ponchos to bug spray, and now I have forgotten one of the most important items. Idiot stick! Because I had no camera and DH had NO clue how to work the new one, I didn’t get one airport photo.
Because I am planner extraordinaire we had Section A for Southwest. If you don’t get Section A you might has well hang on to the wing of the plane because gawd knows where you’ll be sitting. We sit, get settled, when it occurs to DH that his phone has a camera! Yay us! Here are a few rare plane shots:

This sweet falling asleep on each other family togetherness lasted for most of the trip with only a few rocky patches. :D
The plane ride to St. Louis, our stop, is rather mild. The kids nap and draw, no farting or screaming or fighting like typical public mortify me behavior. Of course because SW only serves peanuts and Ritz crackers we are STARVING. They attendant tells DH he has 10 minutes to run and grab us food. So what does he get for all 5 of us? ONE bagel sandwich, a cookie, and a bag of chips. One! Idiot stick move #2. Will he be this cheap the entire trip? ;)
During our stop Garden Grocer calls to let me know that our groceries have been delivered as does A Baby’s Best Friend to let us know our stroller is waiting. One would think that because 2 out of 3 deliveries have been made successfully, that it would be a breeze to retrieve said items………………………………................................. .................................................. .....

Thank you! :D It was everything I thought and then some! My heart still belongs to the Land but WDW was really amazing and I think that will be where the kids choose from now on.

:fez: Good to see you! You might want to go after this! :~D
Day one, part two
Leg 2 of our flight departs on time, more peanuts and Ritz and we land on MCO just after 7 pm. :D I love being on time! We navigate through the airport, make our way to the correct place and see the Magical Express line- yay, we are that much closer to Disney World! We chat with a lovely lady from Trinidad. One of my very dearest friend's fathers was from Trinidad and although I never met him, he died before she and I met, I have a soft spot for Trinidadians due to what a kind and loving person she is. She gives the kids stickers and tattoos and then our bus arrives. We load, find seats, near the tvs (which did not work or were not turned on), and start our journey to WDW! Here is a pic of the kids on the ME bus:

Again, because at that point all we had was Michael's camera phone, I missed taking the bazillion shots I would have.
The ride was uneventful until Michael turns on the DVD player to Aladdin. A Whole New World is the song we always play in the car when pulling into Disneyland property so he thought it fitting to hear it then. It was awesome! Our kids started singing and then the kids next to us and so forth. There was magic in the air already. Of course it was dark so we saw nothing of the surrounding area but we did see the WDW sign!!! By this time the kids were bouncing off of the walls. I don't remember where we stopped first but I do remember pulling into the POR and thinking we are finally here! The ME driver drops us in front and we head into the POR lobby which isn't too busy.
After waiting about 10 minutes, it's my turn to check in and I am thinking a) since we are in Building 25 (I knew from texting with Keith earlier) where is that on the POR map b) when will we get our luggage c) when will we get our groceries and d) did their baskets arrive? I don't think I shared with you all that I ordered baskets for everyone:

The firefighter one was for Michael, the Star Wars themed from Joshua, Pooh for Chloe, and the Tween one for Gab.
During check in the CM explains the DDP, which I already know about from my countless hours of research, where our room is (FAR), and other various things. Before she hands me all of the paperwork she goes into some back room and comes out with the baskets. The baskets were supposed to be waiting in our room, NOT given to them in the lobby. Oh well. They love them! But then she comes out with one more: FOR ME!!!! DH surprised me with one too! Of course, I have no picture but it was a big WDW tote filled with body butter, Tink stationary, and a Lady plush. Lady is my all time favorite! :D
Did our luggage arrive? Will we get our groceries? The Stroller? Besides the anxiety of things to be delivered I was REALLY looking forward to meeting up with K, T, the kids, and Jenna and her family that night! :)
Sunday's plan was Magic Kingdom for Rope Drop; will we make it?
SuefromRI 09-29-2007, 07:59 AM Jenny, we all know how excited you were to make your first trip to WDW. Glad to hear that it was a WOW, and if things went wrong you still had a good time and made it home safely. Looking forward to more reports, too little so far. I'm surprised you didn't at least buy a disposable camera in the airport to get those first shots.
WDW heart 09-29-2007, 11:09 AM So glad you had a wonderful trip in MY park!! ;) See, the East Coast IS great! :p
Loving the trip report so far!
