When we are visiting (Nov. 6-9) the Parade of Dreams is scheduled at 7pm each night, do we need to actually get a spot ahead of time to watch the parade or will we be able to kind of grab one a few minutes before it starts?

You can probably find a standing area a few minutes ahead of time. But I wouldn't really expct to walk up at the last minute and find a seated position.

Absolutely correct. We are not parade people, but we have caught the parade here and there by happening upon it. But if you want to sit (either on a bench or the curb), then plan ahead. We do sometimes sit on a bench and people watch and when the parade starts we will give our seats to a family who looks like they need a break.

If you have kids, I would strongly suggest getting a seat in front on the curb. They will get the best character interaction that way! There are always some spots still open by 20-30 minutes ahead of time if you look, especially on Main St, right in front of the Fire STation. There is no curb, you just plop on the ground and about 20 minutes before the parade starts they will put up a rope right in front of you. There is a pre-parade right now, that includes a Ratatoullie float and the Honorary Grand Marshall, so between that and a snack, the time will go fast.

We used to try to find a place at the last minute but the last few times, I've found it less stressful to hang out beforehand. We have 2 strollers so I take the opportunity to park them on the curb, get the kids to the bathroom if needed and feed them. It's the perfect time for popcorn, ice cream or a corn dog. We reflect on our day and just relax. Sometimes I sit in a stroller for breather while the kids run around.
When the parade starts, my kids stay in their strollers and I try to let other kids in the back come forward.
