View Full Version : Moderate Resorts-Trundle Bed dawz1026 09-24-2007, 06:03 AM Do all the moderates offer trundle/rollaway beds and if so is there still plenty of room to accomodate a crib as well..and stroller. tdelaney_98 09-24-2007, 06:49 AM POR has trundle beds, but I think that's it. GusMan will probably hop on and confirm this for us, as he is the POR-King. You can request a crib/pack-n-play for any resort, I believe. It's probably first-come, first-served, so be sure to request it when you book and remind them about 5 days out by either phone or fax. anniedg 09-24-2007, 08:58 AM To add to what Tina said -- only the AB section of POR has the trundles, not the mansions. GusMan 09-24-2007, 08:58 AM Thanks, T, for that introduction... :) I know that there are rooms in Alligator Bayou @ POR that have trundle beds. They also offer rollaway beds on a first come, first served basis for like $15 a night. The trundle bed is good for a smaller child, at best while I can only assume that a roll-away would be for larger/taller kids or adults. As for the room situation... yes, there is room for a rollaway (or the trundle - probably not both) and a crib and a stroller folded up, but to be honest, it will be a tight fit at best. To help this situation, we tend to take a few minutes to arrive to unpack and do a little "rearranging" so that we maximize the space in the room. That way, it does not seem crowded later and we have some sense of organization while on vacation. Now, to be honest, thinking back to the times when GusJr was in a crib, even some of the deluxe resort rooms posed a challenge with space when considering a crib and a full-sized stroller unfolded. So, its not just a moderate resort thing. scoobydooby 09-24-2007, 01:34 PM You should be able to fit a folded stroller under the clothes hanging space pretty easily if you put cases under the bed. If you moved the armoir (can you?) to under this space you could create room for an open stroller. GusMan 09-24-2007, 02:58 PM If you moved the armoir (can you?)... If you are thinking of the armoir that houses the TV, etc... I highly doubt this would be a good idea to attempt, if it is even attemptable. We are talking about one HEAVY piece of furniture. scoobydooby 09-24-2007, 03:28 PM I'm not. Must have called it the wrong name - DH and I did debate what is was called before I responded to this post. Imagine - the seat thing next to the fridge with the coat pegs above it. We only ever used it for dumping buys of the day on. Waste of space really... GusMan 09-24-2007, 05:33 PM Oh, that nice little bench? Yep... Easily move-able. Moving that to under where you hang clothes up would surely open up some space for a crib or a big unfolded stroller. tappenfeat 09-24-2007, 06:04 PM Do they offer roll away beds at the Caribbean Beach Resort? Crossing fingers... tdelaney_98 09-24-2007, 07:37 PM I believe you can request rollaways at any Dis resort, as long as you're willing to pay for it. I'd call asap and let them know to add it to your ressie. Alternatively, you could either take or ship down a blow up bed. That might be cheaper. Just lean it up against the wall during the day. You'd have to schlep the electronic air thingie, but that would be better than trying to blow it up yourself! It wouldn't have to be an Aero bed. I think we spent $19 for a twin from Target--Coleman brand maybe?? GusMan 09-24-2007, 07:58 PM I believe you can request rollaways at any Dis resort, as long as you're willing to pay for it. I was told by my DVC guide that rollaways are not available at the Villas. Now, I am not sure if that just goes for those staying on points any guests in the Villas. Of course... I will yield to anyone who knows otherwise. :) dawz1026 09-25-2007, 05:31 AM I believe you can request rollaways at any Dis resort, as long as you're willing to pay for it. I will call and see if they have any available...DMIL will be staying with us for one night and there is no way we can cram two small children and her into one bed...should be interesting! :fez: tdelaney_98 09-26-2007, 06:42 PM Keep in mind that the fire code for most rooms is 4 people. If you're going to have 3 adults and 2 kids, you should try for that trundle room where they are coded for 5 people. |
