Just a quick question. I ran the dates and numbers through POR to get a figure and was wondering if when you do that is that price already including extra costs for an extra adult or a trundle bed? I am not even sure Disney charges for these two things but one travel website stated that Disney charges for more than 2 adults in a room and extra for a trundle. I didn't see these fees listed anywhere on any resort page. Is this travel agency just padding there own bottom line or are these fees real?

Thanks!

Just to let you know if you ever want to edit your post just click the edit button on the bottom right corner of your post. It appears there for around 20 minutes after you first post. (I can't be totally off with the 20 minutes).

If you priced your hotel with Disney and tell them about the extra adult and needing a room with a trundle then they will include that in the price. From what I understand there is no extra price for a trundle. If you have more than 2 adults in a room it is an extra $15 a night. You will pay extra if you want a water view or a room with a king bed.

Keep in mind that an adult is anyone 10 years of age and older, according to Disney.

But they don't charge the extra adult fee for the 10-17 year olds, do they?

Hmmm... I thought they did if there were more than 4 in the room. But I could be wrong. I will have to check some of my notes since GusDaughter is an "adult."

Yes, the fees are real.

There is an extra adult (over age 17 for Disney hotels) charge for most hotels, not just Disney, when more than two are in a room. For some hotels it's as low as age 12, but not the Disney ones. You often see hotel rates quoted as "double occupancy", meaning two adults, which is very common in the hotel industry. Disney World keeps to fairly flat extra person rates, depending on your hotel category.

The Disney World "adult" breakdown" is age 18 for hotels, age 10 for park passes and dining.

Several times I've been quoted a trundle bed surcharge or higher rate for a trundle bed room at POR, in the area of $15/night, even with just 2 adults and 2 children (for example if the 2 children will not share a bed). Though the room is really not bigger, it technically holds more people, and Disney prices it closer a preferred room rate than a standard room. In Disney, room location or view or bedding, not just size or occupancy limits, can result in a higher rate.

Hotels in general have several rates depending on view and room size. Even though it sometimes makes pricing your trip more confusing, Disney is just following the industry trend. Same with the new daily pricing and not locking in your rate as of your check in date. Most hotels work on daily pricing, Disney is just conforming to what most of the hotel/resort industry does now.

To answer the original question, if the dates, resort, and accurate number of people with ages in the room is given, the Disney quote should include the extra charges. Not a bad idea to double check though, as I've found when their computers are slow, sometimes a CM just quotes me the normal (non trundle) room rate.
