What are your favorite places to have an alcoholic beverage at WDW? I have a friend who mentioned wanting to have a drink to celebrate after our race in October. I'm trying to steer her away from Rainforest Cafe, so any help is appreciated!

Please share your favorites, and why you like that particular bar or lounge.

ANYPLACE by Rainforest!

Are you planning on doing this after leaving the Studios at midnight or whatever it is? (Hmm, I need to go look and see what time the 'party' ends!) I'd have a drink in the Studios (if they have any of the locations open - I'm hoping at least beer!) before I went to Rainforest. Also, I'd try anyplace on Pleasure Island if you're talking after the run/party - though from PO it's a little bit of a walk. If walking is the issue, I'd hit the bar in either Riverside or French Quarter, if they're still open. (Take the boat between them to save walking, if needed).

But, to answer your question - I'd try Raglan Road if you're wanting a pint, or Adventurer's Club for anything else. Though the Riverside and French Quarter bars are nice. French Quarter has a jazz trio, and Riverside has an exhuberant piano player, so they're actually viable options!

Also, someplace on the Boardwalk would be fun.

HOWEVER, some of the sidewalks are rolled up fairly early in Orlando, so not sure what kind of problems you might run up against there.

I love a good drink....

There are a few places that come to mind if we were celebrating something and wanted to have a bit more fun.
The bar at Ohana (or the Tambu Lounge) is a very fun place to go and get the rum drink in a pineapple - I think it was called Lapu Lapu but I don't remember what that means.
I also enjoyed hanging out at POR and had a Mississippi Mud frozen drink one night and some Blue Moonshine another night.

Enjoy!!!

Ahhh, drinking in WDW - one of my favorite subjects! By far my favorite watering hole anywhere is the Rose & Crown Pub in Epcot's World Showcase. The place is always lively, and you can take your drink with you out onto the promenade to watch IllumiNations.

There's the Tune In Lounge in the Studios. Kinda quiet, but you can watch old tv clips on the bar monitors.

Mizner's in the Grand Floridian is pretty nice. There's a big band that plays on the balcony just outside the bar, which is very cool.

Of course, you can't beat the Adventurers Club in Pleasure Island. Sit on the barstool and quietly ask the bartender to perform his magic on your friend's seat. Funny & fun!

And then there's the new outdoor lounge at waterside of the Coronado Springs Resort. I'm staying there on this next trip in December, and plan to enjoy a drink or 3 overlooking the moonlit lagoon!

I never been to Disney where I was old enough to drink so I was wondering if Germany has those giant glass mugs of beer like they do at that big German festival in October. Please tell me they do because I would love a beer and a hot dog there. Definitely a Kodak moment.

You mean a stein? My husband says there's a kiosk that sells several kinds of beer and I know that there's the CS (Sommerfest) that sells YUMMY hot dogs (w/ or w/o kraut--I vote with, but I'm German & Polish, so kraut is a no-brainer!).

There was also some kind of Sam Adams beer class that he took in America.

Personally, I vote for POFQ Scat Cat Jazz Club. I hear Jellyrools is fun too if you want music. My fav, though, is Raglan Road.

I love the bar in Africa at Animal Kingdom, but I am sure they close up shop early since AK uaually does.

Yep, when the park closes at 5PM the bar closes at 5PM. Bummer! Sometimes even a bit earlier like 4 or 4:30...I remember walking by in late afternoon a little before closing & the bar was shut down good! (We ended up having a libation at Rainforest but it wasn't the same...)

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming!

Drince, we're not intending to go grab a drink on the night of the race, but perhaps the next night. We will probably have dinner at Boma on Sunday, so we may hit Victoria Falls at AKL.

It's good to know the POFQ has a good bar since we'll be staying there that weekend.

Jiko has a signature drink on their menu called the Chocolate Covered Cherry... it is to die for good!!! I walked up to Victoria Falls the other night to see if they made it as well, but they do not. Jiko has a bar though, so you don't need to be dining there to go in and have a drink. I highly recommend it!!! It's $9 and so worth it!!! I also like the Malibu Macaw served at the Poly - I've only ordered it at Kona Cafe, but it's on the menu at 'Ohana and the Tambu Lounge and it's also on the menu at Victoria Falls... probably all over the resort. It isn't as special as the Chocolate Covered Cherry though!

Wendi, first of all, welcome back. Second, what exactly is this Chocolate Covered Cherry drink? What's it made from? I might just have to check it out in November.

I couldn't remember all of the things in it, had to look it up:

Chocolate-Covered Cherry $9
Dark creme de cacao, Skyy vodka, amarula, and cherry brandy in a chocolate-rimmed martini glass with a chocolate-covered cherry

(except my glass wasn't chocolate rimmed - it was prefilled with chocolate syrup at the bottom and chilled - then the chocolate covered cherry was put in and then the drink poured over it.

While at Boma's you may want to try their wine flight-they have red or white and there's a cheater sheet that comes with the glasses so you know which ones are which.

In a Park-Rose and Crown-wonderful atmosphere and great beer. Love sitting on the patio drinking my beer flight and listening to the music drift over from the Fab 5 or(even better) Off-Kilter in Canada.

Out of a Park-definitely Raglan Road. Fun yet family atmosphere, fabulous music and...did I mention the beer flight;)?

?

If I am not mistaken, I believe all of the wines are from South Africa, another cool reason to try them!

On those rare kid-free nights at WDW we like to hang out at Raglan Road. If we're going to be eating House of Blues can also be a lot of fun. We tend to be more biased towards DTD as we're DVCers and SSR is our home resort.

Blueberry Cosmopolitans at the Poly! YUMMY. We also really like Kona Cafe at the Poly (more than Ohana) and it's right next to the bar.
