We're planning on going to WDW in February 2008 for my daughter's 3rd birthday on the 23rd. Before we book, though, I wanted to see if the end of February is still the off-season, what crowds and weather were generally like at that time of year, and make sure that there was not going to be any huge events going on at that time that would make things unbearably overcrowded. Thanks for any suggestions!!!

The last time we went in late February, the crowds were very light, the evenings we were wallking right onto all the rides except Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. The weather can fluctuate greatly during the day. We definitly needed a jacket or sweatshirt in the morning and evening. I think the worse weather was a week when the high was in the 50s

That about sums it up in our experience.
I will say though that it _can_ get a little cold too though. I know cold is reletive but it may not always be shorts and tshirt weather for some people. And personally I think the water parks are far too cold. Walking up the stairs all wet and dripping in Feb. can be pretty chilly. That is just imo.
On the other plus side, Jan. and Feb. are the lowest rainfall months in Florida I believe.

We have gone a few times in Feb. and we like it. The crowds are not large and we didn't have to wait long for most rides. The weather is pleasent, cool in the am fifty to sixties and a jacket and maybe long pants if the high for the day will only be in the low to mid sixties. One day we swam outside because it was about 80 but the weather can change the very next day so take clothes for both cool and warm weather. Best to dress in layers!
I don' know if you are flying or driving but airfare is cheaper at the begining of Feb Vs. later. Also the Daytona race is in mid to late Feb and this could play a part in the crowds over that date, same for Valentines day and Presidents Day/ weekend.
Good luck

If you can avoid going around President's day, that would help with the crowds, I'd think. The one time we went that week, I think we wore shorts the whole time (both my sister and I lived in Oregon at the time).

We've gone down the last few years in February and the weather is highly upredictable. Last year it was in the 80's the first couple of days and then there were frost warnings a couple of days later. I'm not sure where you're travelling from, but I would equate it to September in the northern United States. I've gone on Splash Mountain one day and worn a sweatshirt the next.
Since your travelling the 23rd, I imagaine you'll catch the tail end of the President's Day crowd and completely miss the race crowd. (Daytona 500 is the 17th.) Just keep in mind that Disney Studios is hosting ESPN weekend when you arrive. You might want to avoid that park for the first two days.
Yay February!

I know that the crowds on President's Day (this year Feb. 18th) are more crowded than the rest of February, but what about that entire week? Is it really that much more crowded? Do the crowds drop off on Tuesday? I'm trying to plan our February trip and it would be much easier to go that weekend and the following week, but we won't do that if it's going to be a madhouse.
Thanks!

Make sure its the END of February. As said in PP, the Presidents day week is bad mostly b/c its school vacation in many areas :)
Have FUN!

We've been several times in Feb. and President's day weekend and Mardi Gras will play into the crowd level. (Mardi Gras '08 is 2/5)
The most crowded time I've ever been was when Mardi Gras fell the day after President's Day - it was crowded from the Saturday before till the Wed. after.
I have noticed though with President's day, the crowd tends to go down toward the end of the week. The same with Mardi Gras cuz some schools are only out till Wed., some the whole week.
As for weather in Feb., we've been in shorts and we been when quite cold.
Have Fun! :)
