View Full Version : Who has already been to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
tdelaney_98 09-18-2007, 08:20 PM Well, I'm waiting with baited breath (WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?)--
For those of you who have already been to MNSSHP, how is it? Tell us about it! I hope I spent my cashola well!
Andrew 09-18-2007, 08:40 PM The phrase is actually "bated breath (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bated_breath)" and it means "anxiously".
We haven't been yet, but we're going next month.
Chicago Wookiee 09-19-2007, 04:48 AM We went last October.
It was one of the best times we had in a Disney Park. Walked on to almost every ride, we liked the parade so much we saw it again the same night (it ran twice, not sure if the same this year), and more of the guests were true Disney fans and that made it more enjoyable.
It was well worth the additional money!
MoKat72 09-19-2007, 10:23 AM Went to the first one this past Friday. It was wonderful! Even though it poured and lightninged and many of the attractions were closed for part of the party, we had a great time! We bought ponchos at Pecos Bill's, stuck our mouse ears on top and pretended to be Mickey ghosts all through Frontierland and Liberty Square. I think a few people filmed us tromping through the rain. :) I loved the parade best of all and I've been singing "Boo to You!" ever since.

No, I think she meant she put a little minnow in her mouth and is angling for a bass.
We went a couple of years ago and it was a blast.
tappenfeat 09-19-2007, 10:52 AM WE HAVE!!!! We went October 2006!!! Loved it!!!
We went to dinner 1st at Tony's, then walked out on a transformed park. Fun, dark, but not scary. The first show was great!
The PARADE is not to miss!!! Try to get a good look up front, so finding a spot will have to be early.
AND---- DRESS UP! Yes, I mean adults too! I did with the kiddies and had a ball! Plus, we received lots of attention and also received FREE icecream per Tinkerbell's request!!!
The CM's came up to us and said, "Tinkerbell loves your costumes and wants you and your family to have free ice cream on her!!!"
Whoooooooo! And we did collect some candy, but waiting in the lines for candy was so-so...instead, we went on rides.
The lines were short for the rides.......we stayed until midnight and loved every minute!
I would repeat it again anytime! :fez:
kluvsdisney 09-19-2007, 09:21 PM Tina, you read my mind starting this post. It was on my "to-do list" for this weekend!
What I specifically would like to hear (from those who attended last week or will be on 9/21) is if anything significant has changed from last year - good or bad.
Also, for at least one, if not both, of the times we will be attending (9/30 and 10/5), we will be in the park long before the party starts. Any info as to where they are doing the wristbands this year for those already in the park?
I STILL haven't gotten "Boo to you" out of my head from a year ago. DH and I randomly start singing it all the time. Love it Love it Love it!!! ::p
cheshirecatgirl 09-20-2007, 04:49 AM I know, Boo to You gets stuck! Fortunately, I found the entire parade on You Tube and can hear the song whenever the mood strikes me!
bradk 09-20-2007, 08:20 PM 9/14 was almost a washout so changes aren't fully known yet.. here are some of the differences i've gathered thus far (my first one will be 9/28)
- the photopass discount is 40% off prints this year as opposed to 50% last year
- lady tremaine and the ugly stepsisters appear at the party (they're also part of the Cinderella's Gala Feast meal at 1900 park fare now)
- jack sparrow is doing meet & greets (they're also testing a 'full time' meet & greet on several days this month)
- barbossa appears in the parade (i thought he was doing meet & greets but no confirmation)
- there is a giant tic toc float in the parade as opposed to the character walking in it

O Great and Mighty Wordsmith--
Thanks for the spelling correction. I knew that it meant to be eager--I was wondering what the story behind it was-- I must've been confused by the minnow swimming in my mouth--ha-ha!
BTW, now that we're discussing words--it's probably more accurate to say "eager" (positive connotation) rather than "anxious" (negative connotation). Ah, but I digress!
Thanks for the info on the MNSSHP (OK--back on topic now! Yea me!)
Thanks again!
MaraMouse 09-20-2007, 11:31 PM Does anyone know what this year's activities are? And is there free face painting?
wishiwasthere 09-21-2007, 08:26 AM For those that have already gone where is the best place to view the parade and fireworks? I want to see the headless horseman too!
tappenfeat 09-21-2007, 09:42 AM We were next to the Liberty Tree Tavern......pretty good view! I thought...:fez:
wishiwasthere 09-21-2007, 07:16 PM For the parade and fireworks or just the parade?
bradk 09-21-2007, 09:24 PM LTT is normally where i go for the parade. hoping for a different spot this year.
Mark099 09-21-2007, 11:01 PM We are going in October.
Can you still get into MK early (~ 4 pm) with a MNSSHP ticket?
Photographer 09-23-2007, 05:48 AM I went alone in 2004 and had a great time. I did dress up as Strawberry Shortcake and got lots of compliments from guests and CMs alike. Took part in trick-or-treating, watched the parade, fireworks, enjoyed attractions and overall had a very enjoyable night. I went into the park around 6 with my MNSSHP ticket.
steamboatpookster 09-27-2007, 06:49 PM We went last October and didn't care for it. Not doing it again when we're there next week. What really stinks is that there's a party on Thursday and Friday night, so we miss out on the MK both those evenings. Definitely not worth the extra cash to get in.
dahunter1129 10-07-2007, 11:15 AM Well, I am not the best judge, since I was at the 9/14 party that was a TOTAL washout. One parade, no headless horseman, and scaled down Hallowishes. For me, it was a HUGE disappointment. I mean it POURED for almost three hours. I wouldn't do it again.
tdelaney_98 10-07-2007, 11:40 AM BUMMER! I guess it's hit or miss with the weather. That can really make or break a party!
kluvsdisney 10-07-2007, 12:40 PM Okay, here's a fresh report for you all...
We went on 9/30 and it was as fabulous as ever! Tons of villians out and about, the parade was fantastic (this is my fav parade ever, though!), and HalloWishes was great! We had a blast!
We also were at the 10/4 party, although only for part of it as this was our last night and I had some things to pick up at Downtown Disney. Anyway, my only complaint for that night was Liberty Tree was really backed up and we got in really late for our ADR. No biggie though. The characters were in costumes and they were adorable! It rained off and on that night, but it rained and rained and rained all week, so what was a little more?
Overall, we LOVE the Halloween party and were not disappointed this year!
bradk 10-07-2007, 01:31 PM i was at 9/28 and 9/30 weather couldn't have been better... i'm working on gettings pics up, although i have posted samples elsewhere
worst weather was on 9/29 when i was stuck outside in the rain for 90 mins straight during the jungle book party
CHEERMOM 10-08-2007, 07:18 AM We really like the halloween party! The weather is hit or miss, but if you wait it out, they usually will still show the fireworks and parade after it stops. The kiddos had a great time at the dance party at Cosmic Rays. The characters were wearing their halloween costumes and spent time dancing with all of the kids. DD liked this more than the candy! which was plentiful, and good stuff. I liked it when they used to have the group pictures included instead of just a photopass discount though. It was just a nice touch.
Drince88 10-09-2007, 06:49 AM Do they have stories and songs on the River Boat this year?
bradk 10-09-2007, 06:52 AM not that i'm aware of.. the liberty belle hasn't operated during MNSSH for the past few years I believe
