A simple question: Can I assume that Alfredo's menu which has been updated as of August of this year would be the same as or similar to the menu for Tutto Italia?

Thanks.

Not in the least, Chuck. Sorry to say!

Alfredo's was a privately owned restaurant, the original "creator" of Alfredo in Italy, and a "branch office" if you will was opened in Orlando under contract. That contract is up, wasn't renewed for whatever reason, and is out.

Tutto Italia will be a restaurant concept developed by the Patina Group--a restaurant company with many other concepts in other cities, the closest comparison people can guess at is "Naples" in DTD in DLR.

So the menu will be very very different.

For the better or for the worse? Or don't you know?

Thanks.

I'd wager to say that nobody knows outside of the owners, as the new place isn't even open yet.

Nobody can possibly know. No menu has been released yet. It is supposed to open this week, last I heard.

Thanks for the comments. I know its tough to predict what a restaurant will be like before it opens but since it was "supposed" to open on 9/17 I figured that I would catch someone who was there when it opened. I guess that it didn't open when scheduled which seems to be a chronic problem for some dining places at WDW.:crying:

Thanks, again.

I actually talked to someone who ate there over the weekend (at a CM preview). He was extremely impressed with the food, but did say that the menu choices are a bit fancier and more exotic than what was offered at Alfredos. He didn't think that was a bad thing at all, but he did suspect that the audience for the new restaurant could be a bit different.

His overall opinion on the restaurant was extremely positive, though, and we are looking into trying to get a reservation there for our upcoming trip (in about 3 weeks...)

He did mention that they didn't have a menu available for them that actually showed prices, so he didn't know whether this would be higher-end than Alfredos in that respect.

If anyone is planning an upcoming trip and wants to try Tutto Italia, they started taking reservations today.

I've already got my reservation for October 6. We'll get a park guide page set up for the restaurant shortly after.

I've seen the menu, and it is a little disappointing to me...both in the food options and in the price. I can honestly get a wonderful, upscale Italian meal in the City for less than it would cost me at Tutto Italia. For instance, an appetizer of mozzarella cheese with tomatoes is $15, and Pasta E Fagioli soup is $10. The cheapest pasta, which is a dish of penne caprese, is $24.

For those looking for a family style dinner, it's $59 for adults, $18.50 for the kidos.

Hoping this is just a temporary menu until the new place opens next year. I wouldn't mind paying the prices if the menu looked more enticing to me.

Mark, I will be interested in your assessment of this place when you go next month.

Wow, seriously? That's too rich for my blood unless there's something that's just to die for.

I look forward to reading your report Mark.

YOWCH! That sounds too pricey for me too. Hope it is just super to make those prices sound more reasonable. Hey, I'll go get some buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, and some basalmic, and I'll charge $9 and still make a fortune! :)

I'm looking forward to hearing more first-hand accounts! Keep em' comin', friends!
