Al mentioned it in his last update, but I wanted to make sure folks know that they can vote every day for the Best Unofficial Disney website. Mouse Planet's numbers aren't what (in my personal opinion) they could be, so I wanted to make sure everyone had the URL and knew they could vote once a day. The URL is:

http://pub25.bravenet.com/vote/vote.asp?usernum=2106291801

If I've violated some Mouse Pad rule by posting this, I do aplogize.

Neither are anyone elses numbers. I hate these webpolls, they never solve anything, and only allow the webmaster of the eventual winner to brag about the results, never mind what the actual numbers turn out to be. No offense to Al if Mouseplanet wins of course, but at this point, I don't think anyone really has a chance for the #1 spot any more. :(

Perhaps not number 1, pheneix, but there are a couple of others on there MP could catch and pass! I think the purpose is to have fun, not solve anything. If you choose not to participate, fine. I just wanted to make sure those who had already participated knew they could vote once a day and not just once the whole time.

I don't think we at MousePlanet have any official opinion on these polls. Any validation or criticism of what we do is a good thing, in my opinion, but I don't think we place any undue relevance on the results.

But, Karin, I don't think we will be stopping anybody from saying "Go to this Web site and tell them that you think MousePlanet is the best things since pre-sliced individually-wrapped cheddar (not American, real cheddar, because American isn't real cheese)."

We won't stop you from saying "Go and tell them MousePlanet is the worst things since American cheese," either, but we'd prefer the former.

I just wanted to make sure those who had already participated knew they could vote once a day and not just once the whole time.

Then that really downgrades the credibility of these polls. Any poll that is made like this should definitely only be considered for bragging rights, as the final results are most likely unbalanced and do not have have much credibility.

In any case, I do encourage everyone to go vote for MP too. It would be nice to see us win the #2 spot. I think the next poll will be much more interesting though, as by then the MP community will have built a good foundation.

Look at the top two sites. Both focus strictly on and are known for their WDW information. By far there has to be a greater number of people out there looking for WDW information vs mainly Disneyland information (Al la MP, LP)

So even if MP, in a year, has a bigger user base - but the site itself still focus' MOSTLY on DLR, they might not have a chance on these kind of polls strictly because they're targeting a smaller audience..

No?

I find it very hard to believe that MP has a smaller audience than say, the DIS. Besides, as I have said, you can vote more than once on these things, so DIS could be sending about 100 people out daily to vote for it.

In any case, I really doubt that MP is not popular compared to other sites on that poll. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that besides maybe LP, MP is the leader by far.

Bumpity, bump, bump!

For the boards new members who may not yet be aware of this. Surely we can catch the site who is only 100 votes ahead of Mouse Planet.

As of lunch time, we are now five votes ahead!!

Yes yes, it's unofficial, and we still trail way behind some other sites. However, this is still pretty nifty-oreos!

What's wrong with bumping? I think Karin is just bumping this subject thread up in the boards, not voting more than once.

We aren't in Palm Beach County, ya know. ;)

What is bump anyway?

Karin

Rick, a bump is when a reply is added to a post and brings it back to the top of the page of threads so it is the most recently replied to post. I do it so others who haven't had a chance to see that this poll is available and that they can vote once a day for their Favorite Unoffical Disney Website (Go Mouse Planet!).

Question, Rick. If you weren't sure what a bump was, why did you tell me earlier in this thread to stop bumping?

Lani, I only vote my allotment of once per day.

Since it's been than I week since this was last bumped, and since the only time the numbers have been changing lately is when I go to vote, I'm bumping this so folks remember they can vote everyday and we can raise MP's numbers!

Go Mouse Planet!
