View Full Version : Best Unoffical Disney Website contest Karin 12-19-2001, 01:50 PM But doing it by voting in a less-than-ethical manner... do we want that? Alex S. 12-19-2001, 03:01 PM For the following post, my Super Moderator cape is emphatically removed. Nothing I say in this post should be taken as board policy or anything. It is just my personal opinion. I hadn't looked at this thread in a long time and saw there was a lot of activity recently and decided to see what was up. I have to agree with Karin H. If everybody is stacking the decks by voting hundreds of times, isn't that a lot like cheating at Solitaire? It would be my preference that everybody just vote by whatever restrictions are requested by the owner's of the poll. jslivinski 12-20-2001, 03:26 PM Bumping post up. Where closing the gap Darkbeer 12-21-2001, 12:09 AM About 60 votes a day should do it, keep it up..... Darkbeer 12-22-2001, 11:34 PM Wow, go to work and see the votes grow, less than 300 to go... Please keep voting.... (BTW, BUMP!) jslivinski 12-24-2001, 07:29 AM 200 to go, what a busy bunch we've been. Karin 12-24-2001, 12:54 PM I have stopped voting since it's obvious others have taken it upon themselves to vote many times over for not only themselves, but for others, too. So since they're voting unethically, I have decided to stop voting. I encourage those of you who are doing the unethical voting to cease and desist. Winning is one thing, winning by stuffing the ballot box is quite another. I wouldn't want a win (for myself or Mouse Planet) that wasn't a true reflection of the readers/voters. Please stop voting 100's of times! dsnyredhead 12-24-2001, 02:30 PM I agree that it should be one vote per person. Though I don't understand why the contest makes it possible to vote multiple times in the first place. This should have been prevented at the start of this contest. jslivinski 12-26-2001, 07:55 AM I doubt anyone is stuffing the ballot box. Most of the people that have been posting on this site seem to have busy lives and don't have the time needed to circumvent the one vote per person safeties on the voting site. I do think that we have a lot of "team" spirit. Looking back over the numbers that have been posted over the last few weeks and these are very rough figures. We needed 1500 votes on 12/13 and had 18 days to do it, that's 84 votes a day. We've been averaging 50 votes a day with a big jump on 12/13 and between 12/19-12/22, during both of these times there was a lot of posts to this thread keeping it on top and a lot of hype at taking 2nd place. As far as tally's jumping up/growing real quick (all at one time), I've noticed in other polls that they tend to update a few times a day, not with each vote. I don't know if that is the case with this poll, but it maybe. OK, that's my .02. I think we can take 1st place because MousePlanet is best and we know it. We might be late getting the vote out, but we have the "membership" to do it. jslivinski 12-27-2001, 07:29 AM WE DID IT!!! MOUSEPLANET HAS TAKEN THE LEAD.:D Karin 12-27-2001, 10:30 AM With over 100 votes to 1st place from yesterday, I sincerely doubt that there wasn't some serious ballot box stuffing. People are on vacation, away from their computers, not reading these posts and being reminded to vote. I'm disappointed that we got here by apparent ill-gotten means. MickeyD 12-27-2001, 01:27 PM I don't know. I was on vacation at my parents house for a week, and I actually voted every day, which is not something I do when I'm at work. Usually if this thread is not in my "new posts" I forget to vote. With dial-up I can't stuff the ballot box if I tried... jslivinski 12-29-2001, 09:46 PM Don't forget to keep voting. We've in the lead by less than 100 votes. Darkbeer 12-31-2001, 02:42 PM Last Day to Vote...... BUMP! MickeyD 01-02-2002, 03:20 PM Am I the only one who's amused by the fact that after we did to get to first place (by ill-gotten means?) they never announced the winner? jslivinski 01-02-2002, 04:20 PM As of this morning they we're still accepting votes. Largent81 01-14-2002, 11:05 PM Doesn't look like they've revealed the winner yet. If I am wrong however, please let me know. dsnyredhead 01-15-2002, 06:21 AM They appear to be still taking votes.... Darkbeer 01-15-2002, 07:16 PM Here is the scoop, try and click on the website that sponsered the poll, Joe and Matt's Disney Newscenter. As far as I can tell, the site closed sometime this summer. The only link to the poll for the last few months has been the link shown here on this thread. Therefore almost all voters use this site and was why MP kept getting votes when other sites didn't. Glad to see MP won, but as with ANY web poll, the results are never scientific..... Largent81 01-15-2002, 07:22 PM Oh well, atleast it shows our... WEBSITE SPIRIT!!!! Woohoo! Give me a M! Give me an O! Give me a U! Give me a S! Give me an E! Give me a P! Give me a L! Give me an A! Give me a N! Give me another E! Give me a T! What does it spell? Mouseplanet! Mouseplanet! GO MOUSEPLANET!!! YEAH! Lacrosse Boy 04-18-2002, 05:18 AM Yeah! MousePlanet is in the lead! Keep those votes rolling in so that MousePlanet crushes all competition! dsnyredhead 04-18-2002, 06:07 AM They're still taking votes for the year 2001? Disney Nick 05-26-2002, 08:27 PM MP is number 1... YAY ;) |
