I know ive been back a week but i am still working on my trip report so please be patient as i have 14 days to write up.
But for this thread I am starting to plan my honeymoon in 2009.
Me and my DF are getting married in July that year, and are having a week in tenerife in the canarie isle straight after. But wanted to take our proper honeymoon to WDW in december 2009 over christmas and new year.
What do people think?
What are the crowds like?
Can i book three weeks direct through disney?
Is their anywhere to get a traditional Christmas Dinner in the Parks?
What is the best dining plan to get?
Please help as We also have a wedding to plan for so alot of work to do.
Thanks in advance
1st of all, congratulations!!! What a great way to start a life together!
As the days approach Christmas, the crowds will increase. The week between Christmas and New Years's is one of the busiest & crowd levels will decrease, quickly, starting January 1st.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't book 3 weeks through Disney. I don't know that you could do it on-line, but I would want to talk to someone, personally, if I were booking a 3-week honeymoon vacation. If you talk to a CM that really knows what's going on, s/he can be a big help, in getting exactly what you want.
As to which dining plan to get: it really depends on how much you usually eat, & what other activities you want to do. Do you normally have a piece of toast & a cup of coffee for breakfast, a sandwich & glass of iced tea for lunch, & your big meal of the day at dinner? Do you want to do a few other things, other than going to the parks? Then you probably should get the MYW plus dining package. If you normally eat a big breakfast, & meat & potatoes meals for lunch & dinner, & want to do a lot of other things, other than going to the parks, you would probably want to get the MYW Primium package.
As far as I know, the only restaurants, in the parks, that have a special holiday meal are Liberty Tree Inn & Crystal Palace, at the MK. I think the Japanese restaurant severed a holiday meal, at Epcot. There may be others, I'm just not sure.
I'm sure others on here, will also give you good advice.

You can only book 2 weeks on line at official Disney I think but you might be able to get the 21 day hopper ticket (you're from the UK aren't you?) to go with a 2 week break then just book the third week separately. You're going to have such fun.... Need an official honeymoon photographer to pack in your case?!

Warmest congratulations! We spent half of our honeymoon on a tropical island and half at WDW! Perfect combination, IMO.
Here's a link to AllEarsNet that lists some restaurants that offer holiday meals this season. I don't know if it will be the same in two years, but it'll give you an idea. http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_christmas.htm
Definitely take into account how you would like to eat before you choose a dining plan, like 2of9 says. Doing a plan will eat into your touring time, but if you're like me, doing the Disney restaurants is part of the whole experience.

I would think that if you're visiting for 3 weeks, you'd almost definitely save money by buying annual passports. Then you're eligible for purchasing the Disney Dining Experience. It costs $60 for a year, and give you 20% off everything, both sitdown and fast food, INCLUDING ALCOHOL! Just a few meals and the card will pay for itself.

Hi Danyoung
As a UK resident we have an offers on 21 day ultimate hopper tickets over here which are very resonable enough so I think I will go for that option when we travel. but thanks for the info it will come in handy when me and my DF are having our discussions
