I've got DSL so I normally don't have any wait at all when viewing article here.

I'm quite surprised at how long the birthday article took to download. I note that one of the pics is something like 64k - pretty high memory when you've got all those pics. YOu may want to try and compress them more or something.

Now....back to reading the article. Should be great! :)

I'm on a T3 lan and it was slow. Worth it though, thanks for the pics, even if I'm not in them. You couldn't stick around till 6:30, could you  :p

And speaking of the slow loading, I'm guessing that Mouseplanet and Mousepad are hosted using the same resources. The pad's running kinda sluggish today, and I'd put 2 cents down that says it's because of everyone checking out those pics in the column.

As the photographer, I appologize for the size of the images. I send them to Al compressed to 80%, and he usually compresses them from there depending on the overall size of the page.

It was a late update last night, so he may have just decided to use what I sent him. I'll see if I can't tweak the photos some. If there's one you really like, grab it now before they all become compressed blobs! :D

I thought the group photo was sized too small... Oh well.

I am on a cable modem and I had no trouble with the speed this morning (actually thought it was fast)

I'm glad I wasn't the only one, Techie 7. I was starting to think maybe I imagined it. I'm also on a cable modem and also thought the d/l time was pretty good.

What time were you to on? I checked the article at about 8:15 in the morning, which I would guess is pretty prime time (about the time everyone has finished checking their email at work and are gearing up to waste a couple hours). At that point, it took like 5 minutes (again, on a T3 lan) to load the whole page, and one photo never loaded properly (I eventually had to copy its location and open it in a separate window to view it).

I have a dial-up connection on my slow computer, and I didn't notice that page taking abnormally long to load. Of course, it was around 6 AM Pacific time when I was looking at it, which probably makes a difference.
