View Full Version : ADR's [now available] for Yak & Yeti and Tusker House
Chicago Wookiee 09-15-2007, 08:29 AM Our trip starts December 28th and I'm still not able to get an ADR at either Yak & Yeti or at Tusker House.
The cast member I spoke to said we were a couple weeks out still for YY and that there was not even a soft date for TH. Why is it taking longer to get these places built or remodeled? When we were there in June it looked as if YY would be done in weeks not five more months!
GusMan 09-15-2007, 09:36 AM When I was there in Aug, it still looked like YY had quite a ways to go. (At least from the outside.) Wasn't the orig anticipated opening date sometime in November? (Cant recall offhand.)
Im thinking with the delay in reopening the eateries in Japan over at Epcot, they most likely want to avoid another scheduling snafu, hence not scheduling ADR's until they are pretty much sure about everything. I would think that would especially be the case for that last week in Dec when you are going.

Current date is still November (per Mark's updates) - it originally was supposed to be October (because we were going to get to be some of the first padders to try it!)
Mark Goldhaber 09-23-2007, 01:09 PM Based on Tutto Italia and the new restaurants in Japan, don't expect reservations to open until the restaurants open their doors.
littlej 09-25-2007, 09:45 AM I called Reservations yesterday and asked about Yak & Yeti and Tokyo Dining. She could not book for either of them, but when I asked when she thought we could start, she said "in about another 2 1/2 weeks." I'm going to try again in a week, and then again in another week. I'll ask each time, and report what I hear.
tdelaney_98 09-25-2007, 02:48 PM Wow--Y&Y should look like the TAJ MAHAL by the time they get that puppy built! It is taking FOREVER!!!
Thanks for the update. No luck in us getting in this time. We'll have to put it on the list for the next trip. :(
lruetx 09-30-2007, 06:58 AM I called Friday (28th) and was able to get a ressie for Tusker for Thanksgiving Day. Not sure when they started taking them, but I was able to pretty much pick the time I wanted.

ourtrip 09-30-2007, 08:21 AM Tusker House character breakfast is taking reservations - booked mine for Feb.
Still no word on the Yak & Yeti according to the CM I spoke to today...
SuzieQ 10-01-2007, 05:52 AM I also got a [lunch] reservation for Tusker House on Friday. They are currently listed as only serving dinner from 3:30 - 4:00!
littlej 10-01-2007, 11:12 AM I called a few minutes ago to make my ADR for Tusker (everything was wide open for early December), and I asked about Y&Y (CS said maybe next week) and Tokyo Dining. To my ultimate disney, the CS told me that Tokyo Dining wasn't even in her database, and as far as she knew, it would be considered a counter service restaurant. Now, I've never had a chance to eat at either the Matsunoma Lounge or Tempura Kiku (the restaurants that will be replaced by Tokyo Dining), but were they considered counter service? I was truly hoping for a relaxing Japanese dining experience at Epcot that did not include me sweating over a grill!

Tempura Kiku and Matsunoma were both walk-ups only. (One of the great secrets for a last-minute sit-down meal.) So it's not surprising that Tokyo Dining will also be walk-ups only.
littlej 10-04-2007, 10:17 AM Not surprising, but disappointing. But Mark, how do you think our chances would be for a walk-up lunch during the first week of December?
To my ultimate disney,
Oh duh, I just noticed that I wrote this. I'm spending way too much time on this site.
It should have read "dismay".
tdelaney_98 10-05-2007, 06:48 AM Uh, no, that's one of those Freudian slips....you really DID mean "to you ultimate DISNEY." :) How very, very funny!
And there's no SUCH THING as being on here too much---HE-HE!
littlej 10-08-2007, 10:25 AM I know! And it's even funnier because I'm so type A that I almost never let something like that happen - I'm terrified that someone might see it! Apparently the word "disney" has a free pass right through my mental filter. By the way, tdelaney, have an incredible time! 5 days to go, I would just about be exploding right now! I've never had a chance to go during the whole Halloween season, and it looks like so much fun. Go crazy!
I just called Disney Dining again. Still no word on Yak & Yeti. The CM I got this time would venture absolutely no guesses at all as to when. I'm considering calling back to see if I could weasel some info out of a different one...
littlej 10-09-2007, 09:40 AM The CM I called yesterday gave me prices for the Tusker House buffet: lunch is $19.99 for adults and dinner is $26.99. I forgot to write down the children's prices, I'm sorry!
fantasiapirate 10-10-2007, 09:58 AM I've been seeing rumors that Yak and Yeti may not open until January.:crying:
Markfd 10-11-2007, 10:34 AM Does anyone know when Yak & Yeti is going to start taking ressies? I keep calling and keep getting told no one knows?
stan4d_steph 10-11-2007, 10:37 AM Your thread has been merged with an ongoing discussion.

Markfd 10-11-2007, 10:51 AM By the way - I was able to get ADRs for the new Donalds Character breakfast in the tusker house for December...interesting that they told me that Yak & Yeti is opening a bit sooner then the Tusker house and that YY was not taking ressies yet but the Tusker house was....the CM's seemed a bit confused about this as well.

It appears that Disney has run into some delays in construction on Yak and Yeti. Tusker House doesn't need as much work; it's already got a physical space, they're just changing it up a bit.
It's easier to tell people they can't reserve than to have to call a lot of people to tell them they need to reschedule their PS because the place won't be open.
Wfoxx 10-11-2007, 06:59 PM I was on wdwmagic and they have 2 prices listed for TH. One for holiday season and one for regular season.I was surprise to see 2 different prices.
littlej 10-12-2007, 06:37 AM My TA from Small World Vacations has also heard that the opening for Y&Y was pushed back to January.
Thanks for the heads up, Wfoxx. I found the details: http://www.wdwmagic.com/animal.htm
scoobydooby 10-20-2007, 08:59 AM Are Tusker House and Yak and Yeti available as part of the dining plan? I can't seen to find this information in relation to these 2 places anywhere.
I know that Tusker House was on the DDP. Last year, the dining plan restaurants list for 2007 remained incomplete up until about the first of November. I know that I was stressing some desired places not being on the list-mainly DTD and Epcot, but when we made our ADR's the first week in November-everything we wanted was there. Does that help?
