There is cheese on it, you can ask for it without, if you wish. I usually take some out, while I do eat cheese, I do not eat much. There is also a roasted vegetable Lasagna at the Trattoria There are Veggie burgers at the Hungry Bear, these might also be available at other burger locations. There is a Portobello mushroom dish at the Blue Bayou, it is not my favorite, but it is something for me to eat when we go there. There is a pasta dish at Hooke’s Pointe I really enjoy, but I can’t remember what it is called. Dole Whips and popcorn are my favorite snacks. There is always something, no matter where we go, that I can find to enjoy. There is also the option of asking something be made without meat (at sit down restaurants) Also Catal and Tortilla Joes in Downtown Disney have some tasty options. missuniverse78 09-14-2007, 05:07 PM thanks sooo much...i really want to go to blue bayou but wasn't sure they would have any options for me...i want the monte cristo but once the meat is gone there isn't much left to the sandwich :( Geneva 09-14-2007, 05:11 PM thanks sooo much...i really want to go to blue bayou but wasn't sure they would have any options for me...i want the monte cristo but once the meat is gone there isn't much left to the sandwich :( I believe they do have a three-cheese Monte Cristo available, which doesn't have any meat. Yum! Malcon10t 09-14-2007, 09:21 PM the loaded baked potato soup = not so vegetarian. i asked about it in january and discovered it is made with meat stock and has bacon bits in it and they can't/won't make it without. so i would strike that one off the list ... Thanks, someone else had told me is was vegetarian, will cross it off the list. DizneyMommy 09-15-2007, 07:54 AM There is also a fruit cart in Adventureland between the entrance and exit to JC. It is also a retail strore I think. renodlandlover 09-15-2007, 08:20 AM The interesting things about most of this list is that there is VERY LITTLE variety or protien in many of the options, except for cheese. As a family of four vegetarians, that usually spends 7 days at DLR and DCA, we struggle to find variety and more than CHEESE. Be warned, the veggie burgers in at the Bavarian Haus are "home-made" and quite dry, in our past experience. The Mexican restaraunt is a good bet, several years ago I also had a bean burrito there. :) I actually wrote a letter to DL after our last visit, and the response showed the complete lack of understanding that most of people have of the needs of vegetarians. I feel sorry for any vegan that might want to go to the Happiest (hungriest?) place on earth! That being said, we certainly don't starve on vacation, and always bring in our own lunches, without a hitch, with hummus, pb&j and more. Thanks for the suggestions of some other spots we hadn't found yet. Just know, you will be eating lots of cheese! And bring some nuts and other protien sources to snack on.;) Jennie yohomama212 09-15-2007, 10:02 AM I found out the hard way that the pizza salad at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port has pepperoni on it. It's not listed on the ingredients on the display panel for it. Elizabeth Bytebear 09-15-2007, 10:54 AM All the burger places have a veggie burger, but they are pretty dry. I have found that the "Taste Pilot" is a good choice because they have a lot of good fixin's that you can choose from, and "Whitewater Snacks" because it is part of the Grand Californian hotel, it seems to be of better quality and have quite a few salad choices as well (plus they give you a strawberry with your meal :) ). I think if you eat at "Tortilla Joe's" in Downtown Disney, you cand find quite a few mexican vegitarian choices, and you can always ask to substitute the meat with beans. stan4d_steph 09-18-2007, 09:25 AM I found out the hard way that the pizza salad at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port has pepperoni on it. It's not listed on the ingredients on the display panel for it. ElizabethThey will make up a salad without pepperoni, you just have to ask. I agree that it should be listed on the display though. HobbitFeet 09-30-2007, 08:43 PM I wanted to mention that the gumbo isn't "vegetable gumbo", but it's actually called *vegetarian* gumbo. And it's delicious. |
