I've read other threads and the "culinary expert", but let me tell you about our last supper there on Aug 31, 2007.
I was with me bro Mikey, 8 of us all together, with a 4pm reservation. The kids got linguine, the girls chicken parm, and I of course had to go with the signature dish.
For a bunch of beer drinking, schocolatte moussse loving blue collar Ogres from jersey (hey no apologies - we are what we are) we had a great time!
Our server, Marco, was telling us that yes he was sad, but yet happy that he was going home to Italy to start a family with his soon to be wife; we wished him God's Blessing. How happy we were for him! He was singing and telling us stories of the times he had at Alfredo's.
When he brought out our lobster bisque, it was in a huge dinner bowl! All of the food, including the kid's linguine and my alfredo, was in heaping piles. "Hey, you are big-a- boys. It's our last night. Mangia-Mangia!"
(sorry to all of you later diners who reported them being out of food - I guess we ate it all! LOL). We then had some schocolatte moussse for desert that rivaled La Patiserie in France!!
It was expensive for me (300 including tip), but worth it in my opinion. We all had a great experience. I agree with Mr. Foxx that it will be missed. But for those of you who did not like it - that's fine too. No need to attack each other over culinary preferences. One man's Victoria and Alberts is another mans Electric Umbrella!!:D
